Kakashi glanced at Naruto in the arena, then shifted his gaze to Sasuke seated in the stands. After a month of training Sasuke, Kakashi knew exactly how much progress the young Uchiha had made. And yet, Naruto still seemed to have the upper hand.
Kakashi didn't know what to say anymore. The speed at which these two had improved since graduating was astonishing, and the enemies they faced just kept getting stronger—first Zabuza, then Orochimaru. What was next? Were they planning to take on the Kage of each village? Surely they wouldn't go after tailed beasts just because there was no one else left to fight?
In Kakashi's mind, only the Kage of the various villages or the tailed beasts could surpass Orochimaru in strength.
Neji rose to his feet, his expression grave as he began strategizing his next move. Making up his mind, Neji swiftly closed the distance between himself and Naruto once more.
Naruto countered with his Ming Fist Wing Chun.
The two exchanged blows, and after a dozen moves, Neji thrust his palm forward. Just as Naruto was about to grab it, Neji suddenly accelerated, shifting his palm into a fingertip strike that landed squarely on Naruto's shoulder.
Naruto's chakra flow was disrupted, and the swirling wind around him vanished. "What!?"
Big Brother-in-Law, how did you manage to hit me? This shouldn't be possible!
"When I was defeated by you the first time, I noticed your body's reaction speed was incredibly fast. Then, through our earlier exchanges, I realized that whenever I disrupted the wind surrounding you, your reactions became even faster. So..."
"So you used your chakra to negate my wind, reducing my perception, and then suddenly accelerated to deceive my eyes," Naruto finished for him. Big Brother-in-Law was indeed skilled—he hadn't noticed the probing at all.
"Accept your fate," Neji said, crouching low with one hand extended forward and the other back.
This stance looked familiar to Naruto.
Just as he was about to retreat, he found himself moving as if stuck in quicksand, his actions sluggish.
Naruto realized Neji must have distributed his chakra around him to slow his movements, intending to follow up with a devastating combo.
But Big Brother-in-Law, did you forget something?
"Gentle Fist Art: Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms!" Neji charged forward, his hands forming finger strikes aimed at Naruto's chest.
"Summoning Technique: Single Iron Pot Shield!" Naruto quickly summoned an iron pot and held it horizontally in front of his chest.
"What!?" Neji didn't have time to pull back and was forced to shift his fingers into a palm strike, slamming it against the iron pot.
Naruto summoning the pot wasn't surprising—Neji had seen it during the earlier exams—but he hadn't expected Naruto to still be able to do so despite having his tenketsu sealed and his chakra flow blocked.
Bam!
Naruto, holding the pot with one hand, couldn't withstand the force and was pushed back two steps.
The iron pot remained unscathed, and aside from some pain in his wrist, Naruto was fine.
Retrieving the pot, he pulled out a bag of flour and threw it at Neji's feet.
Neji quickly retreated.
Naruto produced a torch. "Flour Style: Dust Explosion Technique!"
Boom!
Neji had already exited the explosion's range, dropping to the ground and using chakra to form a protective shield on his back.
Since he wasn't within the direct blast zone, Neji didn't bother using Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven. That technique consumed a significant amount of chakra, and he preferred to conserve it whenever possible. His opponent could afford to waste chakra freely, but he couldn't.
Naruto hadn't expected a few bags of flour to end the fight—he was merely buying time to reopen his tenketsu.
Pulling out several bricks, he unleashed his Little Naruto Flying Brick Technique.
Neji rolled to the side twice to dodge the bricks, then sprang up with a backward somersault, shattering one of the bricks with a single palm strike. Under his Byakugan, he noticed Naruto's tenketsu had already reopened.
So having more chakra really does let you do whatever you want?
While it was true that being struck on the tenketsu slowed down chakra control, allowing those with greater reserves to recover faster, this was absurdly quick—even for Naruto.
"Neji, I admit your strength," Naruto said. Big Brother-in-Law was indeed sharp; even the subtle increase in reaction speed from his swirling wind hadn't escaped Neji's notice.
Naruto extended his hand, and a pale green Rasengan appeared. Before it could change color, Naruto fixed its hue.
Green represented awkwardness, and Naruto was indeed feeling a bit embarrassed—he had prepared a song for Neji, only to nearly get taken out by a single combo.
Both Izumo Kamizuki and the disguised Orochimaru were stunned. They had seen Rasengan before, but this green version was something else entirely.
After snapping out of his daze, Izumo bit down hard on the senbon in his mouth, nearly shattering his teeth.
That hair, those eyes, that Rasengan—it was all so familiar, save for the slightly different color.
"Rasengan!" Chakra surged from Naruto's feet, anchoring him to the ground before he suddenly accelerated.
"Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven!"
Naruto's speed was too great to evade, and this attack didn't look like something a human body could withstand. Neji had no choice but to activate his ultimate defense.
The Rasengan collided with Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven, and after a clash of spinning chakra... the Rasengan was deflected!
Damn it! Naruto nearly cursed aloud. How could it bounce off like that? Next time, he'd have to grab hold of Neji to prevent him from escaping.
Boom!
Naruto's first Rasengan debut ended with a crater blasted into the ground.
In the stands, Sasuke felt a twinge of frustration. He realized he couldn't create a crater like that with his Chidori, and even though he had copied the technique, his chakra control still wasn't refined enough to use it effectively.
In the arena, Naruto stared at Neji's spinning defense, contemplating his next move.
1. Dig a tunnel underground and attack Neji directly from within.
2. Use Rasengan to break through the center of Revolving Heaven from above.
3. Infuse chakra into a rope and wrap Neji up tightly.
All three options were viable, so naturally, Naruto chose a fourth.
"Big Fox, lend me a hand…"
Naruto pulled out an ice block and began shoving it into his mouth.
Inside Revolving Heaven, Neji couldn't stop the technique mid-rotation without leaving himself vulnerable to an attack. Meanwhile, Naruto stood outside, patiently waiting. Prematurely stopping would leave Neji unstable and open to counterattacks.
As Neji watched, Naruto's chakra flow grew faster and faster.
Naruto's body began to redden, and steam started rising from his mouth.
Crouching, preparing, and running!
Naruto's fourth option was to emulate his brother—the Machine Naruto.
If he ran fast enough, Revolving Heaven wouldn't be able to keep up!
With the added boost of Kurama's chakra and the unique power of his secret techniques, Naruto's body became akin to a five-ringed sports car equipped with an aerospace engine.
His speed continued to increase.
"What is this!?"
"Impossible!"
The spectators familiar with the Hyuga clan gasped in shock.
Kakashi had already lifted his eye patch, watching intently. How did his sensei's son always manage to pull off such incredible feats? And was this even possible?
Izumo's senbon nearly fell from his mouth in disbelief.
"Father, is this really possible?" Little Hinata asked.
"In theory, yes," Hyuga Hiashi replied numbly, watching Naruto's rapidly accelerating figure circling Revolving Heaven.
Since the creation of Revolving Heaven, no one had ever thought of countering it like this.
Inside Revolving Heaven, Neji was horrified. He could now only see the chakra in Naruto's lower body but not his upper body—a fact he understood all too well.
Naruto had positioned himself in Neji's blind spot and matched his rotational speed perfectly.
The temperature of Naruto's chakra continued to rise, and his speed increased even further.
Hey, Big Brother-in-Law, check out this treasure!
Naruto slammed a brick into Neji's chest, knocking him out of Revolving Heaven.
The entire audience gasped in shock!
"Big Fox, stop."
Naruto instructed Kurama to slowly release chakra to block his own chakra flow—if it stopped too abruptly, he'd explode.
This technique couldn't be halted by Naruto himself. At its peak, the chakra behaved like a chain reaction, spiraling out of control.
Six seconds later, Naruto broke through Revolving Heaven.
His speed was terrifying, and he hadn't even reached his limit yet.
But the consequences were severe. His body was severely dehydrated, every cell pounding like a drum, urging him to replenish fluids. His leg muscles were torn, and even with his constitution, it would take at least one or two hours to recover.
If he had pushed it to nine or ten seconds, Naruto was certain he'd be dead.
"The winner—Uzumaki Naruto!"
Izumo stepped forward to stop Neji from getting up. Several of his ribs were broken, and any careless movement could cause them to pierce his lungs or heart, which would be fatal.
This was the result of Naruto holding back—if he hadn't, that brick strike at such speed would have killed Neji instantly.
Naruto could have forced Neji to use Revolving Heaven with Rasengan and exhausted him to death, but what was the point? He wanted to break Revolving Heaven with brute force to show Neji that nothing was absolute—not even absolute defense was unbreakable.
And the Caged Bird Seal? It wasn't absolutely unbreakable either.
Your sister's husband will use Truth-Seeking Orbs to unlock it for you in minutes.
But first, you need to lie in the hospital while I play you a piano piece.
Just as Naruto was about to open a portal to go home and rest, Kakashi flashed in front of him. "Need a hand?"
Kakashi had already assessed Naruto's condition—his leg muscles were torn, and at this point, any elderly woman in Konoha had better mobility than Naruto.
"Yeah, take me to where Hinata is." If he could be near Hinata, why bother going home?
Kakashi rolled his eyes. You almost killed her brother, and now you're going to flirt with her?
Are you even human?
