From just inches away, Glen stared at Etien, no smile, no scowl, not even a flicker of annoyance or offense at the bold, defiant words just thrown in his face. But then again, Glen had expected this from the start. He already knew Etien would react like this if he ever made a wrong move.
"How would you even know if I started pulling the same kind of stunts my father did, when you've never left Winterbraun?"
"I've got eyes all over Aetharion," Etien shot back. "That's how I knew what your father did, no matter how deep he buried it, even if it was in a goddamn ant hole."
Etien shoved Glen, trying to get up and put some space between them. But Glen, with those big, strong arms of his, pulled Etien in tighter, holding him so close it was impossible to break free.
"Hey, what the hell—!"
"Why don't you find out for yourself what I've done, or haven't done, to Aetharion, instead of trusting someone else's version of the story?"
