The rhythmic crashing of the waves felt like a soothing melody to Etien. After Reiner decided to handle the remainder of his unfinished business, lingering tasks after last night's warehouse fire, Etien took Glen to the beach for a moment of peace before they returned to the capital.
A cloth was spread out, complete with glasses, plates, a large bowl of fruit, light snacks like bread and pastries, a few cuts of roasted meat, and wine, making them look like they were having a lavish seaside picnic. They'd chosen the same stretch of beach where Etien and Reiner had gone fishing the previous evening.
