"Where is it not right?" Ling Luochen stood up and looked back towards the village.
Due to the fire, only a large area of ruins and broken walls remained. Looking directly, nothing obvious could be discerned.
But soon, Ling Luochen discovered some unusual aspects.
She walked into one of the ruined houses and picked up a corner piece of stone wall scattered on the ground from the collapsed wall. The fractured surface was actually incredibly smooth and flat.
If it had been smashed due to the wall collapsing, the break should have been very rough.
This situation, instead, seemed as if it had been directly cut by some kind of blade, sword, or other sharp weapon.
She immediately checked other houses and found that every house had this situation. If it were Evil Soul Masters massacring the village, there would be no need to enter every single house to clear it out.
Doing so seemed more like searching for something.
In such a small village, what could possibly attract the attention of Evil Soul Masters?
Treasures, Soul Bones, and the like were obviously unlikely. That only left...
Ling Luochen's gaze turned towards Yuwen Tuo, still kneeling before the graves. There was only him. The greatest treasure in this village was he himself.
No wonder Yuwen Tuo said he wasn't some lucky star, but a calamitous one. It turned out he had long guessed that the Evil Soul Masters came to this village because of him.
Returning before the graves, Yuwen Tuo said, "Sister Luochen should have noticed by now, right?"
"I noticed. But I still believe this matter cannot be blamed on you. After all, when your parents abandoned you here, you were just an infant! Even if the Evil Soul Masters came because of you, it's not your fault." Ling Luochen placed a hand on Yuwen Tuo's shoulder and gently held him in her arms. "Little Tuo, don't worry. Sister will definitely help you find out the truth of this matter. I suspect it might be related to your origins."
"Perhaps. Perhaps one of my parents had some connection with Evil Soul Masters. Even if they weren't Evil Soul Masters themselves, being associated with them means their identity wouldn't be simple," Yuwen Tuo said. "Investigate, of course I will investigate. But I don't want to waste time. Right now, I don't have a single clue. If I don't find out in a hundred years, does that mean I won't seek revenge for a hundred years?"
"But without investigating, how will you take revenge? Also, don't you want to know your origins?" Ling Luochen asked, puzzled.
"Regarding my origins, I have absolutely no interest. Who gave birth to me is beyond my control. Since they gave birth but didn't raise me, then they have nothing to do with me. As for the method of revenge, I've already thought it through!" Yuwen Tuo clenched his fist.
Actually, his method of revenge was very simple. Finding the main culprit was naturally best, but if he couldn't, it didn't matter, because he was already prepared for indiscriminate killing.
The so-called revenge, the method is actually simple – just four words: Exterminate and Annihilate.
Towards Shrek, it's the word "Exterminate". Yuwen Tuo would use this word to complete his revenge against Shrek and Ma Xiaotao.
And towards Evil Soul Masters, he would use the harsher word "Annihilate".
Evil Soul Masters – kill one upon seeing one. Kill until all Evil Soul Masters in this world are extinct.
By doing so, presumably, the Evil Soul Master who harmed his family would, at some unknown time, become a ghost under his sword.
At that time, even if the truth hadn't been fully uncovered, vengeance would already have been achieved.
The killing intent suddenly erupting from Yuwen Tuo made Ling Luochen feel somewhat uneasy. She still decided to try helping Yuwen Tuo investigate first. Perhaps, they could really find his parents; it was better than knowing nothing at all.
Yuwen Tuo knelt before the graves for half a day before getting up. He found a broom, swept the dust clean before the graves, and then meticulously removed the weeds bit by bit.
"Grandpas, Grandmas, Uncles, Aunts, Little Tuo has to leave again. Rest assured, the village's vengeance, I will definitely repay tenfold," Yuwen Tuo promised all the graves.
Afterward, he walked out of the village with Ling Luochen. Ling Luochen spoke, "Let's stop here, Little Tuo. You can go do what you want to do now. I'll leave first."
Yuwen Tuo glanced at her in surprise. He had just been wondering how to get Ling Luochen to leave. Unexpectedly, she brought it up herself.
"Hehe, do you think big sister is a fool? You specifically pointed out that among everyone in the academy, you didn't want anyone else to accompany you, only me. You just knew I dote on you and am willing to indulge you, right?" Ling Luochen smiled, adjusted Yuwen Tuo's collar, and urged, "Little Tuo, I don't care what you're going to do, remember to come back safely. You will come back, right?"
Yuwen Tuo nodded firmly. "I will!"
He would return. Because his name was Yuwen Tuo, and also because he was the disciple of the true Yuwen Tuo. An agreement forged, unstoppable by myriad mountains. He either doesn't make promises, but since he did, he would definitely see it through to the end.
Besides, although he indeed wanted to leave Shrek, he would force Shrek Academy to let him leave openly and honorably, not slip away quietly like this. Otherwise, Shrek Academy could easily fabricate some crime against him, like stealing a Soul Bone from the Inner Court or something, and put out a continent-wide warrant for him. Even if he left, he wouldn't leave peacefully.
Also, there was still Yan Shaozhe's Hidden Force in his body. If he didn't return within a month, it really would erupt. He didn't want to die yet.
Actually, from Yuwen Tuo's perspective, this Hidden Force wasn't particularly sophisticated, nor difficult to dispel. The problem was, a clever housewife can't cook without rice. Yuwen Tuo's current power level was too weak compared to Yan Shaozhe; his own Soul Power couldn't shake that force.
He also couldn't harm Ling Luochen. After all, this time, Ling Luochen was essentially his guarantor.
It wouldn't be long now. Soon he could leave openly and honorably. Only then, in the future, could he rightfully return with sword in hand to kill his way back.
As long as this plan succeeded, perhaps he still couldn't deal with top experts like Mu En and Xuan Zi for the time being, but against Super Douluo like Yan Shaozhe who had just reached Rank 95 – if they fought one-on-one then, Yuwen Tuo could guarantee that Yan Shaozhe would be the one to die. He could achieve a 'first encounter kill' against him.
After bidding farewell to Ling Luochen, Yuwen Tuo walked north alone.
Watching Yuwen Tuo's back gradually disappear, Ling Luochen's expression changed, becoming serious and focused.
A yellow Soul Ring slowly rose from beneath her feet. Simultaneously, the ice element in her hand gradually condensed into a staff.
"Staff of Ice!"
Ling Luochen waved her staff, and an ice wall abruptly appeared, blocking the three figures who were just about to pursue Yuwen Tuo.
The three landed and questioned angrily, "Ling Luochen, do you know what you're doing? Actually letting Yuwen Tuo leave alone?"
"So it's the three of you." Ling Luochen clearly recognized them. These three were teachers from the academy's Outer Court – one Soul Sage and two Soul Emperor level experts.
"Don't worry about Little Tuo's matter. Because he said he would return. I will take full responsibility for everything. But right now, Little Tuo doesn't wish for anyone to follow him. So, I must ask the three teachers to wait here for a while." Ling Luochen said, then waved her hand. "Come out!"
The next moment, a figure clad in blue robes appeared beside her, respectfully saying, "Young Miss!"
"Help me block these three teachers!" Ling Luochen ordered.
"Yes!"
Ling Luochen's background was not simple; she hailed from a great noble family no less influential than the White Tiger Duke's. Some time ago, after Yuwen Tuo completed her test, she had quietly written home calling for helpers.
Although it was just one Soul Sage, it was sufficient to help her block the academy's Soul Sage.
She would handle the other two Soul Emperors herself. Although the opponents' ranks were higher than hers, she wasn't afraid in the slightest.
A Soul King isn't necessarily unable to defeat a Soul Emperor.
She was one of the current generation's Shrek Seven Monsters, the main control-type Soul Master. Control-type Soul Masters inherently tend to counter other types. If she didn't even have the ability to challenge those above her rank, how could she deserve the title of a Shrek Seven Monster?
Yuwen Tuo hadn't walked far yet when he heard a loud "BANG" explode from behind.
He didn't look back. The fact that the academy sent people to follow him – Ling Luochen could discover it, and he could guess it too.
He knew Ling Luochen was blocking them for him right now. Towards this 'big sister' Ling Luochen, he felt gratitude from the bottom of his heart.
For this, he ran forward desperately, running as far as possible. Not just for temporary freedom, but also for the eternal freedom soon to come, and the power to vent his hatred.
