Andrea quietly walked into the PICU, afraid that making too much noise would affect her baby.
"My baby." She whispered softly, and a tear slipped from her eyes as she witnessed her child's condition. Her once happy and healthy baby was now breathing with the help of an oxygen tube.
Andrea held his tiny hands and leaned to kiss his little fingers. "Thank you for being strong for Mommy."
The beeping sound of the machine was the only noise in the room, but Andrea decided to change that as she sang softly to her son.
After spending an hour and a half at her son's side, Andrea decided to look for Gael, and she found him talking to Collin.
Her steps came to a halt as she watched him rolling up his sleeves and nodding to whatever Collin was saying to him. And once again, Andrea found it difficult to take her eyes off him; she just kept watching him as if he was the most interesting thing in the room until she felt a nudge on her shoulder.
