Chapter 94 - I Love You

Martha was taking forever to return with the first aid, and she was growing a bit impatient. She returned to the room, placed her basket of flowers on one of her reading tables, and drew some of the curtains to lessen the light a bit in the room before changing into one of her nightdresses. She wore on top some of the silk robes as she leaned over to wash off the blood completely from her hands. She stepped out from the washroom to wrap around the wound a white cloth she could find to stop the bleeding. She was just glad that the pain had stopped. She spent the rest of the evening replacing the flowers in the room with the ones she'd just picked—careful not to let any one of them prick her fingers again.
