Chapter 127 - The Final Gift

Dante stepped into the Hall of Ice and Crystal. The air was still, frozen in time, just like the ones who rested here. Before him lay the graves of Frigg and Baldr. Their final resting place, untouched by the world's chaos.

His steps were slow, deliberate. He knelt before them. His fingers brushed against the icy surface of Frigg's grave, and for a brief moment, he closed his eyes.

"I am almost done, Frigg. Almost. All for the world I love and my tribute to your legacy"

___________

Back at Hogwarts, silence reigned near the Black Lake. Dumbledore's voice carried across the room, heavy with finality.

"No one returns to Hogwarts. The school is not safe anymore."

His words settled like a weight on the gathered students and professors. The realization was dawning upon them, Hogwarts was coming to an end.

Sadness filled their eyes. Their home, their sanctuary, would soon be no more.

But then, a voice broke the silence. Luna Lovegood.

"The school will be fine," she said softly.

Eyes turned toward her, confusion evident.

She wiped at her tears but continued, her voice filled with conviction.

"After everything you have learned about him, after everything you have seen from him, you all still don't understand. He's too nice to destroy the school."

More tears slipped down her cheeks.

"He's too kind to end his students' legacy, to harm children, to end races, to destroy our world. And yet, even now, you still think the worst of him. Can't you see it? Even after everything?"

The hall fell into silence once more.

Then a gruff voice broke through the quiet.

"I don't believe Professor Malfoy would harm Hogwarts."

It was Argus Filch.

The old caretaker's eyes were teary, and beside him, his cat Mrs. Norris meowed softly, as if agreeing.

Filch sniffed, then said something that sent shock through the crowd.

"Right before the ceremony, he created a new section in the library. Hundreds of new books were added."

Gasps rang out. Even the professors looked at each other in astonishment. Disbelief spread like wildfire.

Luna shook her head and spoke again.

"I don't know what he is planning… but he was definitely lying that day."

A new voice drifted through the air.

"He spoke no lies."

The crowd turned sharply toward the source.

A silver, floating figure had appeared.

It was the spirit of the first Horcrux, the same ancient entity from Dante's lecture three years ago.

Gasps filled the air as many instantly recognized him.

His gaze fell on Luna.

"You must be Luna Lovegood," he said. "He told me about you. His only friend"

Luna wiped her tears and opened her mouth to speak… but closed it again.

Then, finally, she asked "What do you mean he didn't lie?"

The spirit smiled.

"You took magic for granted, so he will end it."

A murmur spread through the crowd.

"You, his students, and the magical world after you now studies and thinks carefully before using magic. It has already begun, you don't take it for granted."

He continued "He said the elves will be free. And that will happen tonight."

The people paled.

"He said the magic scrolls, the creatures, and the abilities you take pride in will be no more. You won't feel that pride anymore… because many of you now have the knowledge to create it yourselves. It is no longer a source of pride. It is simply understanding."

The spirit's glowing eyes swept across the room.

"With his death, all that he knows will be gone."

A heavy silence followed his words.

But then—

"However…" the spirit continued, "he left you a library filled to the brim with books to replace his memories."

A realization hit them. The new section of the library.

Dante hadn't abandoned them. He had prepared them.

And then the next revelation.

"And do I need to remind you…?"

The spirit's silver glow shimmered.

"I am Hogwarts too."

A cold chill passed through the crowd.

"What about the statute of secrecy?" Dumbledore asked the most important question.

The spirit looked at him and said "The wizards and witches understand now their state and the harm the statute of secrecy caused. Do you think the magical world would still approve of it?"

Dumbledore's eyes widened and so did the others, after everything the wizards learned in the past three years, it would be foolish to plan to keep it.

Luna stood amidst the stunned crowd, her breath unsteady. She wiped away the lingering tears from her cheeks and looked up at the spirit.

"What is Dante really planning?"

The Hogwarts spirit turned his gaze to her, his silver form flickering like an ancient flame.

"As he told you, to undo his work… with one grand spell unlike anything the world has ever seen."

The crowd tensed as the spirit's voice resonated through the air.

"He already explained it before: Magic is the fusion of mind, body, emotion, life, and soul. Each of these components adds to the power of magic. And now, he is giving it back to you."

A hush fell over them.

The ground trembled.

Above them, a silver light surged through the land surrounding Hogwarts, flooding the ancient castle and the Forbidden Forest.

The sky above darkened, and from the swirling clouds, Dementors descended, gliding silently through the sky. A presence more ancient than fear itself filled the air.

The Hogwarts spirit's voice echoed once more.

"He has split his soul again into seven parts and spread them across different locations.".

The Hogwarts spirit raised his hands, his silver glow intensifying.

"Each soul now lies in a magical leyline where magic is most abundant."

His voice softened.

"With the help of countless souls, memories, life… and fueled by Love, his greatest spell will be cast upon the world."

The crowd was motionless, struggling to comprehend the enormity of what was unfolding before them.

The spirit's silver eyes scanned the stunned faces before him.

"Love fuels selflessness."

—In a distant island, the spirit of Ekrizdis, the ancient master of Azkaban, shone with silver light, the land around him pulsating with magic.

"Love fuels the desire for a better future."

—Across the world, Armand Malfoy's spirit glowed in the distance, his essence merging with the silver spell.

"Love fuels greed."

—Somewhere far away, Sun Simiao, the ancient healer, shimmered with silver radiance, his magic returning to the world.

"Love fuels hope."

—The spirit of Tertius rose into the light, his soul carrying with it the wisdom of ages.

"Love fuels hatred."

—In a land swept by the river of time, the spirit of Herpo the Foul, once a feared and cursed name, now shined silver, his suffering becoming part of the grand spell.

"Love fuels grief."

—In an ancient ruin in the North, Odin's spirit radiated silver, his power joining the others.

"Love fuels your curiosity."

—The Hogwarts spirit himself began to glow, its very foundation a product of love—the desire to teach, to learn, to grow.

"Love is the strongest emotion you can wield."

Finally—

Dante, standing beside the graves of Frigg and Baldr, shone brighter than all the others, his body glowing with silver light.

He spoke "Love is the source happiness and regrets"

___________

Across the world—

Seven columns of silver light pierced the sky.

And then—

Seven flowers of silver radiance bloomed.

___________

The Hogwarts spirit began to fade.

His final words echoed in the hearts of all who heard them

"This is his work, undone. Everything he collected and gathered through thousands of years will now be given back to you."

The silver light spread.

"A grand spell to empower all magical creatures across the world."

The crowd watched in silent awe.

"A new age of magic will come."

The glow grew stronger.

"You will stand equal to the Muggles you began to fear."

Tears fell from countless faces.

"This is his final gift to you."

With those words—

The Hogwarts spirit vanished, his silver form dispersing like mist in the wind.

And then— A miracle unfolded.

The crowd began to glow silver. Students. Professors. Graduates.

The Merpeople in the lake shone with ethereal light.

In the Forbidden Forest, the Centaurs stood proud, their bodies illuminated by Dante's final spell.

Across the world— Every magical creature, every being touched by magic, felt it.

A silver warmth filled them, lifting them higher than ever before.

For the first time in history— The world of magic was truly free.

No one spoke.

The entire crowd lowered their heads—filled with gratitude… and shame.

They had feared him. Doubted him. Misunderstood him to the very end.

And yet— He had given them everything.

___________

In the icy hall, far away from Hogwarts, Dante's body knelt before the graves of Frigg and Baldr.

His final resting position. The glow around him faded, and slowly, his body became an ice sculpture, frozen in eternal silence.

And then, a crack of black lightning shattered the stillness. It struck Dante's frozen form.

For a brief moment, the world held its breath.

Then, his body crumbled into silver dust.

And with it, Dante Malfoy was no more.
