Thank you for reading all the way to the end.
At its core, this story was always about obsession and bias. From beginning to end. In the Harry Potter universe, the British wizarding society is deeply obsessed with the idea that Dark Arts are inherently evil, and anyone who dares to use them must be a villain. That unshakable belief, that bias, casts judgment long before truth has a chance to speak.
The main character, too, is trapped by obsession. A life stretched over thousands of years has narrowed his view, made him cold, and left him unable to care about much beyond his goal. His bias is born not of fear, but of time, pain, and mistakes.
The story began from the others point of view labeling him evil at every turn, calling him a dark wizard, even though he had done nothing in front of them to deserve such condemnation. Simply creating dark magic, refusing to conform, or standing apart was enough to earn their scorn and doubt. Readers saw this firsthand, how assumptions are made before actions and even went with the flow.
The flashbacks served as a window into his fractured soul, showing how he became the man he is. And in the later arc, we saw him attempt to correct the wrongs he believes he helped create. Nicolas Flamel's final moment, a man clinging to his lie until the very end, was a contrast to our protagonist, who chose to let go.
Interestingly, even after his story fully unfolded, many still viewed the MC through the same biased lens. Despite seeing his choices, his burdens, and his quiet atonement, they couldn't let go of that initial image. In a way, that only proves the point: bias makes it hard to see the truth, even when it's laid bare.
I hope you enjoyed the story and the ending. I tried to challenge a few of the usual tropes associated with the Harry Potter universe while still keeping things coherent and meaningful.
If you enjoyed this tale, please consider leaving a review! And feel free to check out my other work: DC: The Shadow Monarch's Chronicles. A lighter, more comedic journey compared to this one.
Thanks again for joining me on this ride.
