Of course Serena was determined to leave her husband as soon as possible because she was worried that her husband would be threatened by Barbara one day. For her, they only had to be apart for two weeks, it wasn't a very difficult thing. Now she wanted to test Asher's response because Asher certainly wouldn't allow her to leave him suddenly.
"What is your reason for suddenly leaving me?" Asher asked softly.
"Because I don't deserve to stay in your house for two weeks. Soon you will be Barbara's husband."
"Why did you say that?" Asher got up from the couch and approached his wife weakly. "Did you lie to me this afternoon? I'm sure something happened to you at lunch."
Serena had expected Asher to admit it first without her having to give any more clues. Her eyes began to tear up remembering the threat Melda had made earlier that afternoon still made her heart ache. She squeezed her blouse tightly to hold back her tears. Now she didn't want to act weak in front of her husband.
