Chapter 116 - Chapter 116: The Teacher's Guidance

Roy looked ahead and saw a grand hall resembling a royal palace.

A long red carpet stretched from the corridor into the interior, where a group of centaur maidens, distinct from humans, were serving with golden cups and silver trays, offering fine wine and fruits.

Their figures were slightly petite, displaying the characteristics of magical creatures that combined mare and human features.

Yet, each of them had a hot figure and beautiful appearance, dressed in exotic attire that was quite distinctive.

Most of them also wore gold and silver jewelry, the tinkling of which filled the air with an atmosphere of luxury and indulgence.

Among them were some centaur valkyries clad in leather armor, resembling warriors, but all wore artistically crafted light armor that relied on magical power rather than heavy iron for defense.

On a golden branch beside the throne, a crow was staring at him.

It carried the soul aura of Flosf, and their magical powers were interconnected.

This was no ordinary crow, but a magic pet.

In a sense, the magic pet and its master were one, transformed into an external organ-like existence through mysterious rituals.

Surrounded like stars around the moon, seated on the throne was none other than Teacher Flosf.

Roy had seen him before during cross-dimensional communication, but now, meeting him in person, Flosf appeared in a large white robe, presenting himself as a scholarly old man with white hair as usual.

But at this moment, Roy felt he resembled more of a worldly old king than a truth-seeking wizard.

As thoughts swirled in his mind, Roy stepped forward, placed his hand on his chest, and bowed deeply.

"Teacher, Roy is here to report to you."

Flosf smiled and said, "No need for formalities, sit down and speak."

Two beautiful centaur maids brought a large chair and placed it at the lower end of the hall-like room in front of Roy.

Roy quickly glanced around and noticed that the other wizards were not present, but each had their own seat.

This was both a consideration of the hierarchy and the order of arrival.

So he thanked them and sat down in his place.

Since they had already communicated before, Flosf only symbolically inquired about his situation and then instructed Erlant, "Arrange Roy's accommodation and the schedule for his study courses.

Then go to my library, take the books I prepared, and deliver them to his residence."

"Yes," Erlant hurriedly replied.

After Erlant left to attend to his tasks, Flosf turned to Roy and asked, "What are your plans for your upcoming wizard career?"

Roy replied, "As far as I know, after a wizard is promoted, the primary task is to inscribe the corresponding first-level wizardry into the soul."

Flosf nodded, "Correct, the mainstream meditation method of our Vizel wizards requires that after promotion, one inscribes their main wizardry into the soul.

You should remember that I once mentioned inscribing the spell model into the soul, turning it into innate wizardry...

This is actually similar to a certain metamagic feat used by mages in the Arcane World."

The Arcane World...

Roy's heart stirred.

This was the first formidable enemy force encountered by the great wizards after they stepped into the Star Sea, and it remains the most entangled and deeply conflicted force to this day.

Flosf said, "Using this method, it can be upgraded, gaining effects far beyond ordinary spells, such as instant casting or sustained effects."

"How so?" Roy became intrigued.

Flosf explained, "Take the 'Animation Art' you currently master, for example. It requires chanting and casting, much like Arcane spells.

In reality, it is a 'Tier Zero Animation Spell.'

But once engraved into the soul, it transforms into a 'Tier One Animation Spell,' allowing it to be controlled as effortlessly as the Hair Demon Physique."

"Really? It can be like that..."

Roy snapped out of his thoughts, feeling a surge of excitement.

Tier Zero Animation Spell! Tier One Animation Spell!

He had vaguely heard of these concepts before, but no teacher had explained them so clearly.

Flosf continued, "After achieving this, the next step is to consider elevating the Source of Magic to the second tier, entering the vaporization stage."

"Vaporization..."

"You must have noticed that the first-tier Source of Magic exists in a faint, shadowy state.

At this level, the enhancement it provides to spell power is quite weak.

In most cases, it only offers about a 4-fold increase, whereas a second-tier Source of Magic can reach an 8-fold increase!

You can imagine the significant difference that makes."

Roy pondered for a moment, "The Source of Magic is closely linked to Mental Strength, so this must require a certain level of Mental Strength, right?

I remember reading about it briefly in a book at the library."

Flosf nodded, "Indeed, if measured in degrees, one must possess at least 50 degrees of Mental Strength to attempt this step.

Without sufficient Mental Strength to refine it, achieving the qualitative transformation of magic is impossible.

The manifested form of vaporization is enough to give magic a tangible substance."

"I see."

Roy felt a slight sense of anticipation.

Flosf added, "After that, the next steps will involve engraving second-tier Wizardry and elevating the Source of Magic to the third tier, which is the liquefaction stage.

Following this logic, the stage beyond, the Great Wizard stage, involves combining the ability to materialize the spirit, leading to crystallization and even deification!

That would be comparable to demigods and true gods!"

The books Roy had read in the library only briefly mentioned these things.

It was only now that Roy learned about the subsequent transformations of the Source of Magic.

Flosf continued, "However, these are experiences shared by all Wizards. Have you ever thought about your own path?"

"My own path..."

Roy paused for a moment, silently thinking to himself, of course, he had.

Everything he had came from his Alchemy Talent, so naturally, he would continue to pursue the Inherent Essence and enhance his abilities in that area.

In addition, the 'Transmutation Circle' used for advancement also seemed to be a unique talent.

It needed to be fully explored.

However, it wasn't appropriate to discuss such matters openly with his teacher. After some thought, he decided to play it modest, "I haven't had the chance to think that far ahead yet. I would appreciate your guidance, teacher."

Flosf, knowing he was a newly advanced Wizard, didn't find it strange and said, "Then, as someone who has been through it, let me offer some advice."

Roy immediately assumed an attentive posture.

Flosf said, "I've seen the materials you submitted, focusing on Animation Wizardry and the derived Hair Demon Physique."

This can indeed be considered a combination with considerable potential.

However, for now, when facing enemies, you probably rely on brute strength and physical prowess at the Grand Knight level.

At best, you might slightly utilize the Wizardry Artifact or Enchanted Items in your hands.

As a Spellcaster, this is not a good thing."
