He walked back to the desk and gestured at the screen."There's something strange in this footage.see, At first glance, it looks normal. But watch closely here."
Taehyung leaned in closer to the screen, watching the clip on loop. Something was gnawing at him. Then, suddenly, his eyes narrowed.
"Pause it," he muttered to himself and froze the frame.
Yeonjun looked over. "What now?"
Taehyung pointed at the corner of the footage. "The guard… see him? he is the guard of our office. He was standing right next to that man when he was on the call."
"So?"
Taehyung turned his head slightly, a spark in his eyes. "If the man said anything important, the guard might've overheard it."
Yeonjun raised a brow. "You think he remembers?"
"I don't know," Taehyung replied, already standing up. "But it's a better lead than staring at this footage for another hour."
Yeonjun laughed. "Wow, should I start calling you Detective Kim now?"
Taehyung smirked.
"Go get the security guard who was on duty outside the building that day," Taehyung said firmly. "Tell him I need to speak with him."
Taehyung sighed and adjusted his tie. "For now… let's get back to work."
Yeonjun, still holding the cookie box, suddenly grinned. "Yes, but before that I want to tell you something."
Taehyung looked up. "What is it?"
Yeonjun proudly puffed out his chest. "You're trending. Number 1. As the most handsome CEO on internet."
Taehyung blinked, slightly confused. "What?"
Yeonjun nodded excitedly. "After the press conference, not only did our share price go up but people are also obsessed with your looks. You're literally number one on every platform."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow, amused.
Yeonjun held up a finger. "But the most important thing is…" he paused dramatically. "I'm at trending number 2. As the handsome secretary."
Taehyung stared at him.
Yeonjun grinned wider. "Not bad, right? We're a visual duo. Investors are happy. The internet is happier."
Yeonjun smirked as he scrolled through his phone. "By the way, people have started making your fanbase on the internet. You've got way too many followers now."
Yeonjun looked up with a teasing grin. "Handsome CEO is trending like wildfire."
Taehyung shook his head slightly, lips twitching into a small smile. "Impressive isn't."
Taehyung leaned back in his chair, eyes flicking toward Yeonjun with a slight smirk. "Trending number one, huhhh?"
Yeonjun beamed, clearly waiting for that reaction. "Yes, and guess who's right behind you? Me. I am on trending number 2 as a handsome secretary. The world finally sees what I've always known I'm a national treasure."
Taehyung raised an eyebrow. "Handsome secretary, huh? Is that what they're calling you now?"
Taehyung let out a low chuckle. "Should I be worried that my secretary is more focused on his looks than his work?"
Yeonjun gasped. "Excuse me. I can do both. Beauty and brains. Haven't you heard of the concept?"
Taehyung shook his head with a smile, grabbing a folder off his desk. "Well, Mr. Trending Secretary, how about you apply those brains to this week's budget summary?"
Yeonjun pouted, dramatically placing a hand over his heart. "Okay, okay don't treat me like that. I'm on demand these days, you know."
He began stepping backward toward the door, slow and theatrical, as if exiting a stage.
Then, with a playful glint in his eyes, he stopped at the doorway, bowed deeply like a polite secretary, and mimicked Sooyaa's tone.
"Then, I shall take my leave, Mr. Kim," he said with exaggerated grace.
Taehyung raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Seriously?"
But he couldn't help it he chuckled. Grabbing the pillow , he hurled it straight at Yeonjun.
"Yah!"
Yeonjun yelped, dodging it just in time. "Too slow and that's very expensive pillow Mr. Kim!"
he teased, already halfway down the hallway.
Taehyung shook his head, still smiling as he turned back to his desk.
"That guy is too much…"
Meanwhile, Sooyaa and Hye-jin burst into laughter.
"What a scene that was!" Hye-jin exclaimed, wiping a tear from the corner of her eye.
Sooyaa could barely breathe from laughing. "Taehyung holding Yeonjun like that oh my God!" she exclaimed, tears forming at the corners of her eyes. "Did you see Yeonjun's face? He looked like he'd forgotten how to breathe!"
They both erupted into another round of laughter.
Later that night Sooyaa was sitting on the couch at Kang Hye-jin's apartment, a soft blanket wrapped around their legs. The glow from the TV screen lit up their relaxed faces as a late-night movie played.
On screen, the charismatic CEO leaned in, his voice deep and confident.
"I can buy anything," he said, flashing his sleek black card. "And You know I can."
At that line, Sooyaa's smile faded just slightly. Her eyes blinked once… then drifted off.
The exact same words echoed in her mind spoken not by an actor, but by Kim Taehyung.
"If you want, I can buy it. And you know I can."
Sooyaa let out a soft, ironic sigh. "Huh… who even says things like that?"
Hye-jin chuckled beside her. "Are you kidding? That's so romantic."
Sooyaa turned her head with a skeptical look. "Romantic? How is that romantic? Sounds more like showing off."
"Exactly," Hye-jin grinned. "Hot guy. Confident. Rich. That's the drama package."
Sooyaa rolled her eyes pouting his lips out.
"Hmmm"
Just then, the doorbell rang.
Ding dong.
They both froze, then instinctively paused the movie.
Hye-jin furrowed her brow. "Who could be here at this time?"
Sooyaa lazily pointed toward the door. "Go open it and you'll find out."
Muttering under her breath, Hye-jin stood up and padded to the door, pulling it open.
She blinked. "Yeonjun?"
