Tanjiro had never seen a {demon} crawl on all fours before, but compared to the deformed {Hand Demon}, this {Long-Tongued Demon} was relatively normal.
"Die!"
The {Long-Tongued Demon} lunged at Tanjiro, attempting to bite his neck.
Tanjiro kicked it away.
Seeing this, Tanjiro was stunned. Was this {Long-Tongued Demon} weak? Or was he too strong?
As Tanjiro was stunned, Ryuji's voice came from behind. "Tanjiro! What are you spacing out for? Quickly finish off that disgusting thing!"
Hearing this, Tanjiro sensed the fluctuation of the void's threads and launched a fatal blow at the {Long-Tongued Demon}.
"Water Breathing, Eighth Form: Waterfall Basin: Destruction!"
As the {Long-Tongued Demon}, knocked to the ground, tried to get up, Tanjiro's Nichirin sword came down heavily.
The {Long-Tongued Demon}'s head was severed.
"Impossible!" The dying {Long-Tongued Demon} muttered in disbelief.
Tanjiro hadn't expected to defeat the {Long-Tongued Demon} with a single blow. He had thought he would have to fight it for a while before winning.
The {Long-Tongued Demon}'s body and head completely burned to ashes, disappearing without a trace.
"It's over?" Tanjiro still couldn't believe he had so easily killed a {demon}.
Ryuji arrived, seeing Tanjiro spacing out. He patted Tanjiro on the shoulder. "Tanjiro, what are you doing?"
Ryuji's pat snapped Tanjiro out of it. "Ryuji, I didn't expect I could kill a {demon} so easily!"
Ryuji explained, "Your strength isn't bad. That {Long-Tongued Demon} wasn't strong. Killing it wasn't difficult for you."
Tanjiro nodded, quickly recovering from the thrill of the quick kill.
He sheathed his Nichirin sword and knelt before the siblings. "The danger is over. Little sister, don't cry anymore."
Seeing the siblings, Tanjiro thought of Nezuko.
The boy finally recovered, looked at Ryuji and Tanjiro, and comforted his crying sister. "Mina, don't cry! These older brothers defeated the monster!"
Mina looked at Ryuji and Tanjiro and gradually stopped crying.
Zenitsu, pulling Nezuko, arrived, panting heavily.
"Ryuji, Tanjiro! You guys were really reckless! You almost left me behind to kill a {demon}! If I hadn't run fast enough, you would have left me in this deep mountain!" Zenitsu complained.
"Zenitsu, if we were any slower, those siblings would have been eaten by the {demon}!" Tanjiro didn't respond to Zenitsu's complaints but explained the urgency of the situation.
