Everyone's gaze landed on Chuck, waiting for him to answer the Professor's question.
"History is... the story of epic people doing epic things," Chuck said as if he was some kind of refined scholar that knew about the secrets of the world.
"Like wars, betrayals, forbidden love between a princess and a rogue, and people punching dragons in the face. We care about history because it's full of juicy drama. Honestly, it's kind of inspiring.
"Like, if these people in the past could survive all that stuff, maybe I can also survive Professor Grelvok's Magical Combat Theory class."
The class chuckled. A few students clapped, mostly out of amusement.
Professor Arabella covered her mouth and giggled because she and Professor Grelvok were close friends.
Hearing one of her students mention her stubborn old friend elicited a ticklish feeling inside her chest.
