Chapter 148 - Chapter 148: Taking Stock of the Gains

Inside the room, Aven sat at his desk, organizing the harvest of the past days.

On the other table, the Petilil was fully focused on concocting potions. Watching the continuous chemical reactions in the test tubes, it wore a look of enchantment on its face.

Ever since it learned the move Aromatherapy through the Awakening Potion, it seemed to have opened up a whole new world.

As a Pokémon Breeder, Aven had always shown great respect for the choices made by his Pokémon.

The Petilil's leaves already had healing properties, proving that this species had an inherent talent for treatment.

In addition to that, it had further grasped Life Energy through its innate gift, allowing it to fully master Aromatherapy.

Without a doubt, its aptitude for healing techniques was outstanding among all Pokémon—it could definitely pursue a dedicated healing path.

Aven even considered building a dedicated Pokémon Center just for the Petilil… the idea filled him with joy.

To the Pokémon League, Pokémon Centers served as a pillar and one of the fundamental structures upholding the entire system.

Although he currently couldn't establish a modern Pokémon Center, it was still possible to replicate a Healing Room based on those found in Pokémon Daycares.

Besides training, sales, and fostering Pokémon, healing services were also a critical function of Daycares.

In regions without Pokémon Centers, the Healing Rooms in Daycares often filled in that role—and were widely distributed.

Aside from the Petilil, Froslass hovered closely beside Aven, clinging to him like glue—wherever he went, it followed.

Without hesitation, Froslass had happily accepted Aven's invitation and officially became one of his Pokémon.

"Phew… still a bit cold," Aven muttered as he tightened the thick blanket around him, feeling the chill from her presence.

After capturing Froslass, Aven ran a full assessment of her from a professional Breeder's perspective.

Froslass was an Ice/Ghost dual-type Pokémon.

However, due to the use of Ghost-type power potentially triggering the gray mist energy inside her, Aven decided to treat her as a pure Ice-type for now.

In terms of strength, her Ice abilities had just reached Advanced-tier, which, converted to his previous life's power rankings, meant she was at Gym Leader level.

A Gym-level Pokémon was capable of guarding a city—it was rare even in his past life. Aven felt like he had struck gold.

If she were to use her Ghost-type powers, Aven estimated her power could rise to King-tier in this world!

Although he had never seen a real King-tier beast here, based on experience, it would likely rival the Elite-4 level of his previous world.

An Elite-4 level Pokémon had the qualifications to enter the Pokemon League Tournament and pursue the position of Champion. Such Pokémon were extremely rare.

Beyond the Elite-4 level lay the Champion-level, the highest combat level in the Pokémon world—capable of fighting even legendary Pokémon.

(TN: Ok, I know I mentioned Overlord level somewhere but I can remember what chapter, but Overlord is probably King Tier)

"Lass~" Froslass noticed Aven flipping through her training notes and immediately floated closer, resting her hand on his shoulder.

Even through the thick blanket, Aven still felt the chill—but he gritted his teeth and remained silent, focusing on his notes.

"If it were summer, this would be quite refreshing…" he thought, continuing to read the training notes.

He had made up his mind—Froslass's next training objective would be controlling her own cold aura, a basic skill every Ice-type Pokémon needed.

Though she possessed the power of an Advanced-level Pokemon, it was entirely due to the gray fog enhancement.

Before evolving, as a Snorunt, she was merely a Primary-level beast. After evolving into Froslass, her strength rose to Intermediate-tier.

Thanks to the passive boost from the gray fog, her mental strength had jumped by an entire tier. The power-up was too rapid, leaving her unable to fully control it.

But then again, considering the gray fog came from the entire Abyssal Caverns, Aven fell silent.

This resource was definitely comparable to a legendary-tier item.

"Froslass, I'll be putting you through intense training next. Are you ready?"

Aven turned to her and asked seriously.

Hearing him, Froslass also became serious, quickly floating in front of him and nodding firmly, "Lass!"

Giving her an encouraging smile, Aven tightened the blanket around him and continued reviewing the training plans for his other Pokémon.

If we're not counting the newly-joined Froslass, the one who gained the most from the trip to the Abyssal Caverns was undoubtedly Rhydon.

When Uncle Mike and Aunt Erin saw that the Rhyhorn had evolved into a Rhydon, they were stunned.

Remembering how small and clumsy it was when it first arrived on the farm, they were filled with emotion—this hardworking little guy had finally grown up.

Despite its evolution, Rhydon's daily habits remained unchanged.

It still led the other Rhyhorns on laps around the village, running while using Rototiller to till the ground.

Everyone in the village loved this diligent old ox, though its movements were noisy. Aven planned to have them train further away to reduce the disturbance.

In addition to that, the Mightyena had learned scouting techniques from the Scout Knights.

Gloom also successfully learned the Sweet Scent move.

As winter drew to a close and the sun rose again, Cherrim could finally shift from its gloomy state to a sunny one.

After a whole winter of energy accumulation, it finally stored up enough solar energy to unleash the powerful Grass-type move Solar Beam!

It was a promising start— Cherrim was getting better at handling solar energy and probably not far from mastering Sunny Day.

As for the Tangela leader, it had little time for training due to managing the fog-infected beasts. Aven planned to properly compensate it soon.

Now that Aunt Erin had mastered making Pokémon food, Tangela had become one of the farm's most indispensable members.

Aven also planned to capture more Tangela from around Aspiration City and further develop the Pokémon food industry.

To better manage the Tangela population, Aven intended to evolve the lead Tangela into a Tangrowth.

(TN: Thank God, I'm correct on this one.)

But for that, it needed to learn the move Ancient Power!
