Location: The First Arena – The Infinite Mirror
There were no crowds. No banners. No trumpets.
Only silence.
Only reflection.
Kairo stepped into the arena alone—the air around him still, yet humming like a song that hadn't decided if it wanted to start or end.
The ground beneath him was a polished obsidian mirror. The sky above, a twisted storm of distorted faces—all of them his.Laughing. Crying. Screaming. Silent.
A voice echoed:
"Trial One: The Mirror Duel."
"Face the version of yourself who followed the path you feared most."
"Defeat him, and reclaim your right to change."
"Lose… and become him."
From the far end of the arena, a figure stepped forward.
His hair was shorter. His armor darker. His eyes… calm. Too calm.He walked with certainty. With weight. With purpose.
And when he stopped just ten paces away, he spoke in Kairo's own voice—
But it wasn't him.
Not anymore.
"You look like regret stitched into a person."
Kairo smirked.
"And you look like a walking red flag."
The reflection bowed, elegantly.
"Kairo Veltz, as you are.""Versus Kairo Veltz, as you should have been.""Crownless by title. King by force."
SYSTEM UPDATE
"Duel Begins – Echo Lock Engaged.""Abilities Balanced – Stats Adjusted to Mirror State.""Sin Reversal Active – Your sins empower him."
Kairo's breath caught.
"You're kidding."
"Nope," Gix muttered from the skybox. "He's using everything you learned… but without your guilt. He's you… without hesitation."
The First Move
Mirror-Kairo didn't charge.
He simply appeared behind Kairo—blade humming with Echo fire—and slashed.
Kairo blocked, barely, only to realize the attack wasn't real.
It was an Echo.He was attacking from three angles at once.
CLANG!
CRACK!
FLASH!
Blood hit the mirror.
Kairo skidded back, knees trembling.
The reflection didn't smile. Didn't gloat.
He just said—
"See? The me who chose violence got results."
But Kairo grinned through the blood.
"And yet I'm still standing."
Round Two
Kairo activated Phantom Ring—summoning:
The King of Chains
The Laughing Flame
The Broken Blade
His past selves flickered into battle.
But Mirror-Kairo cut them down without mercy, without pause.
And then whispered—
"You keep dragging your ghosts behind you like a shield.""I burned mine for fuel."
Kairo dropped to a knee.
His head throbbed.His body screamed.
But something in him—refused.
He didn't want to be the Mirror.
But he didn't want to stay who he was either.
So he asked himself:
"What if there's a third version of me?""Not the failure. Not the tyrant.""But something new."
He stood.
Not taller.
But steadier.
VELVARA'S VOICE echoed through the void:
"You're not one Kairo…You're all of them."
Kairo's eyes flared silver.
"Echo Fusion Initiated.""Unlocking new path: The Paradox Blade."
A second sword formed in his other hand.
One forged of every memory he hated.Every smile he lost.Every choice he couldn't take back.
Final Clash
Kairo and Mirror-Kairo met in the center.
Blade met blade.
Echo met Echo.
Flame met fracture.
Silence met song.
And when the dust cleared—
Kairo stood.
Mirror-Kairo? Gone.
No blood. No scream.Just…
A whisper.
"Good."
"Now write a better version of us."
