Mia Ginger began to call out to someone.
"There was a car accident on Ring City Road, and a lot of patients were brought in right before the end of the shift," Koa Jackson explained, dropping his gaze to look at her, pausing slightly before saying, "Sorry, I couldn't be there for your birthday."
"It's fine, work is important." Mia Ginger glanced at him with a smile, her expression devoid of any annoyance or blame.
The moonlight was beautiful.
Her face was delicate and white, appearing even more radiant than the moonlight.
Koa Jackson suddenly thought of the photo Caiden Ward had sent him, his attention momentarily wandering.
After a while, he looked at her and gave a faint smile, saying, "Happy birthday."
As he spoke—
He handed a small, perfectly square dark brown box in front of her.
"Thank you," Mia Ginger froze for a moment, looked up at him and asked softly, "Is it for me?"
Koa Jackson's lips curled slightly as he glanced at her.
