Chapter 10 - 010.

Jiang Xiaoman thought like this, inevitably worried about her son. After giving Nan Wan a fierce glare, she arrogantly instructed the servant to keep an eye on Nan Wan, meaning not to let her get up tonight.

In the end, she walked up to her son, putting on a gentle and loving expression, "Huai Yu, you have to go to work tomorrow, rest early."

Nan Huaiyu leaned on the sofa, legs crossed, his gaze lazily and indifferently falling on that figure, responding in a languid and casual manner, "Mm."

————

Nan Wan knelt on the living room floor, her gaze scattered and unfocused, her face cold, thin yet with a hard shell.

This was everyday life for her, nothing to feel wronged about, just endure it, and soon it would be daylight.

Since she dared to speak, she was mentally prepared.

This hell draped in luxury was her nightmare, yet also her salvation.

"Aunt..."

A soft and timid voice rang out.

Nan Wan's heart suddenly tightened, and as she looked up, a slight smile already appeared on her face, "Jiashu, why did you wake up?"

The little one hiding in the corner, wearing pajamas, eyes still sleepy, "I miss... mom."

Nan Wan beckoned to her nephew, watching him stumble slowly to her side, reaching out to pull him into her arms, gently coaxing, "Mom is still at the hospital saving people, oh."

Jiashu nodded in a daze, remembering that's what his mom told him before going to work.

Attracted by the shiny necklace on Nan Wan's neck, he forgot about looking for his mom.

Fiddling with the pendant, while whining, "Aunt, where did you go, I missed you so much."

"Then Aunt will spend more time with Jiashu in the future," the chubby little hands tickled her skin, making Nan Wan couldn't help but smile, pulling the little troublemaker out of her arms, "It's late, let's go to sleep, okay?"

The little one didn't naturally understand why Nan Wan would kneel on the floor, or maybe just thought she was sitting on the floor, but subconsciously knew it wasn't good, because mom said the floor was cold and would make you sick.

Jiashu shook Nan Wan's finger side to side, "Aunt, stay with me."

The aunt taking care of Jiashu walked over at the right time.

Nan Wan pointed at the golden retriever lying next to her, pinching his chubby cheek, "Aunt will stay with Barton for a while first, Jiashu be good, aunt will sleep with you tomorrow."

When the aunt picked up Jiashu, Nan Wan clearly saw disappointment in his eyes.

After Nan Ze's accident, everyone lied to Jiashu, saying: Dad went on a business trip far away, and it would take a long time for him to come back.

A three-year-old child, not crying or fussing, accepted the truth that he might not see his dad for a long time, so well-behaved it was heartbreaking.

Being so mature too early, always makes people feel especially tender.

————

Barton lay by Nan Wan's legs, occasionally nuzzling her with his head, quietly keeping her company.

Footsteps approached from afar to near, Nan Wan didn't need to look to know who it was, let alone with such a strong tobacco smell.

She lightly spoke, "You should be quite busy, so don't stand here disgusting me."
