Chapter 14 - BOYS WITH POWERS

Previously you read that Abrar was telling Zaid about everything that had happened over the past two days. Just then, there was a loud explosion in a nearby alley. When Zaid and Abrar rushed there, they witnessed something unimaginable.

Now continues…

As Zaid and Abrar ran into the alley, they saw two boys surrounding a young man.

At first glance, it was clear that something was terribly wrong. The man they had cornered was trembling with fear—as if he had seen death itself. And the reason for his terror were those two boys.

Zaid found all this very strange.

The man was much older than the two boys and could have easily dealt with them, but he was so paralyzed with fear that he couldn't even move.

While Zaid was thinking all this, one of the boys said to the man:

"So you've finally fallen into our trap. If you had just given us your money and belongings willingly, we would've let you go unharmed."

Then the other boy added:

"But since you made us work so hard, you'll have to pay the price for it."

Saying this, the boy raised both hands toward the man. The moment he did so, a strong wind began to blow.

Suddenly, a fierce whirlwind formed beneath the man's feet and tossed him into the air.

Zaid and Abrar were witnessing all this with their own eyes, yet everything felt like a dream to Zaid.

As the man was still spinning in the air, the other boy made his move—his hand suddenly became engulfed in burning flames.

The moment he pointed his flaming hand at the man, a wave of fire burst forth from his palm. The heat from it was so intense that even Zaid and Abrar felt it from where they stood.

The fire surged straight toward the helpless man—it seemed like he wouldn't survive this attack.

But then, in a flash of lightning speed, Abrar leapt high into the air, caught the man mid-air, and used the back wall to bounce back to his original position.

This sudden move from Abrar shocked Zaid deeply—he now clearly realized that Abrar, too, was no longer the same. He had changed... just like those two boys.

Abrar's strength was now far greater than that of an ordinary human; the two spots where he had landed were destroyed under the force of his impact.

Still, Zaid gathered himself and began thinking of a way to deal with the two boys. Just then, a familiar voice echoed in his ears:

"Step forward. It's your turn now. Show them what the master of infinite energy can do."

Zaid recognized the voice—it was that of the masked man. Anger flared within him as he shouted:

"Are you still playing with my mind?!"

But the voice interrupted him:

"For now, your focus should be on these two boys. If you let them go, they'll harm many more people, including themselves."

The two boys and the man stared at Zaid strangely—as if he were mad for talking to himself.

The boys, who were earlier after the man, now had their sights set on Zaid and Abrar because they had interfered.

But seeing Zaid talking to himself, Abrar understood what was happening to him. He said:

"Listen to him, Zaid, or we won't make it out of here. These boys must have awakened their powers just two days ago, but you have to admit—they're using their powers skillfully. Looks like we have no choice but to fight now."

Saying this, Abrar launched an attack on the boys.

His speed was incredible.

He went straight for the boy who controlled the wind,

but before he could reach him, the other boy struck Abrar with a blast of fire.

Abrar quickly dodged and leaped away.

But now the two boys started attacking relentlessly, one after the other.

Abrar could only dodge—though he was far faster and stronger than a normal human, he still couldn't withstand direct fire attacks.

Seeing Abrar struggle, Zaid understood that he had no other choice left. He decided to listen to the masked man.

Then the masked man said to Zaid:

"You don't have to do anything, just focus. Feel the power hidden within you. Even if you awaken just a spark, it will be enough."

Zaid did exactly as he was told.

Closing his eyes, he began to concentrate,

slowly focusing all his attention on his inner energy—and then he felt it... a spark.

But for him, this spark felt like a storm.

A strange force began flowing through his body.

His blood felt like it was boiling.

It reminded him of the time he played that intense football match in school.

Zaid's body was filling with energy; his eyes turned blue.

The rising power within him was clearly visible in his glowing blue eyes.

Again the voice echoed in his ears:

"Go ahead and test yourself. You'll finally see how rare and special you are."

Zaid took a step forward—and the moment he did, a heavy pressure filled the entire area that everyone could feel.

That overwhelming force shifted the attention of the two boys toward Zaid, whom they had so far assumed was just an ordinary guy.

Even Abrar stepped back and said:

"You two better give it everything you've got—or no one will be able to save you."

The two boys then pooled all their power into one massive attack.

One boy unleashed all the fire he could produce, and the other boy mixed it with a raging whirlwind—making the flames even more devastating.

A wave of fire, as massive as a two-story building, surged towards Zaid.

The boys thought this attack would surely finish him.

But Zaid shattered their illusion.

He merely looked at the wave and raised his hand.

The fire, which could have melted steel, compressed into a small spark at Zaid's command—

and then, in an instant, it vanished.

Silence fell over the entire scene. Everyone was stunned by Zaid's incredible power. But the two boys weren't just shocked—they were trembling with fear.

Zaid's blue, burning eyes were fixed on them. The boys were so terrified they collapsed at his feet.

They saw death standing before them. They fell to their knees, begging for their lives.

Zaid knew they were nothing but misguided kids drunk on newfound power. So he grabbed one of them by the neck, lifted him into the air, and said in a cold, heavy voice:

"If I ever see you two again or hear that you've hurt anyone... I'll turn you from humans into dust. Understand?"

The other boy instantly pleaded:

"W-We'll never do such things again... I beg you, please forgive us."

Zaid let the boy go and said,

"Get lost."

Then Zaid turned to the man and said,

"You'd better head home too."

Everyone silently obeyed Zaid and left the alley.

Now only Zaid and Abrar remained. After all that had happened, Zaid had changed his mind. He said to Abrar:

"You were right, my friend. Nothing is the same anymore."

Abrar replied:

"Then listen to me now and return to him—the masked man. Only he knows how to control these kids, and he alone can tell us the truth about these powers we've received."

"I fear him," Zaid admitted.

"He's more powerful and dangerous than we can imagine. I've been watching him for years—there's a fire burning inside him... the fire of vengeance. And I fear that this fire might one day consume us all."

Abrar said nothing. Deep down, he knew Zaid was right.

Then Zaid added:

"No matter what the end is, we can't step back now. The story that has begun must reach its conclusion—that is our duty."

Saying this, Zaid took Abrar with him and started walking toward his home.
