Chapter 35 - Chapter 35: Resolve

It hovered right above him, its figure and outline faint but recognizable.

"This world just doesn't know when to keep some certain things buried, does it?" he said as he stared at the figure.

The figure hovered closely to him, the faint shimmer of light refracting off his face as he stared at it.

It was the face of his mother, one he hadn't forgotten. It was the time she caught a cold because she went under the rain to get him from the playground.

He always enjoyed playing, even when he played alone. It didn't bother him in the slightest because all he wanted to do was enjoy the moment and nothing else. Nothing else really mattered to him apart from that, really.

So that fateful day, he went out to the playground alone as usual. He played to his heart's content, but it wasn't enough, because even though he hid it as much as he could, he felt a faint form of sadness in him.
