Chapter 96 – The Legendary Four Pirates: Roger, Whitebeard, Golden Lion, and Renji!

Kaido's Oni Race physique shared similarities with Big Mom's Iron Balloon body.

However, while Iron Balloon offered superior defense, Kaido's physique excelled in recovery. Big Mom's strength lay in her durability, but her regeneration couldn't compare to Kaido's—especially considering the added effects from his Mythical Zoan Fruit.

Renji could already feel his defense had risen significantly. If he could choose another physique, he'd prefer King's race next.

"Captain looks really happy..."

Toki tilted her head, curiously watching Renji. He definitely seemed in a good mood.

"Come on, Toki. Let me introduce you to my crew."

Renji already sensed Kaido and the others finishing off the Kurozumi clan.

Though he had just arrived in Wano, his Rumble-Rumble Fruit had already scanned the land's power structure. All that remained was to take them down one by one.

When he reunited with Kaido and the others, Ginny approached, guilt in her eyes.

"Captain Renji, I'm really sorry… I shouldn't have questioned your decision earlier."

She knelt on the ground and lowered her head in remorse. After visiting Wano's towns with Old John and witnessing firsthand the stark divide between commoners and nobles, she realized how naïve she had been.

Before Oden's rule, Wano had been even more chaotic. Many couldn't even afford food—yet the nobles continued to live in comfort.

Seeing that, Ginny finally understood why Renji had decided to purge the aristocracy.

Those people were nothing but parasites!

"So, you've figured it out?"

Renji glanced at Old John, who gave him a nod.

Ginny had come to terms.

Honestly, Renji always viewed Ginny and Kuma as potential "time bombs." Unlike John, who only cared about treasure—and even Kaido, whose ambition kept him in line—Ginny and Kuma had a bit too much of a saint complex.

Kaido was manageable: as long as he couldn't beat Renji, he'd remain loyal.

But Ginny and Kuma? Renji knew he'd have to reshape their views eventually.

And he was confident he could.

"I understand now, Captain. I won't question your decisions again!"

Ginny lifted her head, determination burning in her eyes. From this moment on, she would never doubt Renji.

"Good. Now, let me introduce our newest member—Toki."

Renji didn't push the issue any further. Since Ginny had admitted her mistake and pledged herself anew, there was no need to dwell.

They had different values in the beginning—perfectly normal. He could shape their thinking over time.

At Renji's words, the others finally noticed the woman behind him.

Toki?

Wasn't she a Wano noble?

"Huh? She's from hundreds of years ago."

"Hundreds of—are you kidding?!"

Everyone thought Renji was joking. How could someone from centuries ago still be alive?

"She ate the Time-Time Fruit. She can travel into the future. She came from the past to now."

Renji gave a simple explanation. They'd eventually learn more about her ability anyway.

Though it allowed future travel, without narrative awareness, the fruit was practically useless. Toki herself hadn't even developed it fully—she could only jump forward in time and nothing else.

"Time-Time Fruit?!"

Both Old John and Kaido were stunned. A Devil Fruit that busted?

Renji's luck was absurd—he'd just gone out and brought back a time traveler.

"So, we have seven people now, huh?"

The pirate crew was finally starting to take shape.

Captain Renji, First Mate and fighter Kaido, Third Seat and sniper-slash-treasurer John, and four trainees.

"But we're still missing the key crew roles!"

John took a swig of booze and muttered.

"Let me think. We have fighters. For doctors, Kuma and Ivankov will handle that. For intel, Ginny and Toki. That means we're still missing a navigator, cook, and other support."

They still lacked quite a few things. No one aboard could properly cook. Sure, Ginny and the others could make basic food, but the taste was average at best.

And with no navigator, they had been relying on spatial movement up to now.

But once the crew grew, Renji couldn't teleport everyone every day.

Eventually, he planned to form division squads—each with its own captain.

"Oh right, Renji, just like you said—those three fruits did respawn!"

Old John placed three Devil Fruits in front of Renji: the Clone-Clone Fruit, the Barrier-Barrier Fruit, and the Snake-Snake Fruit, Mythical Zoan: Yamata no Orochi form.

It might've felt a little heartless to turn on former crewmates so soon after the Rocks Pirates disbanded, but to take over Wano, everyone standing in their way had to be eliminated.

"That makes four now."

Including the Hurricane Fruit he'd taken earlier, Renji now had four.

He began thinking about how to distribute them.

Taking the three from John, he added the Hurricane Fruit to the pile.

"Ivankov, Ginny—do either of you want a Devil Fruit?"

They were the only ones who hadn't eaten one yet.

In the original story, Ivankov was most suited to the Horm-Horm Fruit—but since that wasn't available, Renji was ready to offer the Barrier-Barrier Fruit if Ivankov wanted it.

"No thanks. I don't plan to eat one for now."

Ivankov shook his head. None of these fruits appealed to him.

"Renji, I want the Mythical Zoan."

Kaido pointed at the Snake-Snake Fruit in Renji's hand.

"You already ate a Devil Fruit, didn't you?!"

Old John gave Kaido a weird look. The moment the fruit was mentioned, Kaido jumped in—John was just about to ask Renji if he could sell it.

Why was a guy who had already eaten a Devil Fruit trying to get involved?

"I'm planning to build a fleet made entirely of Zoan-type Devil Fruit users!"

Even before joining Renji's crew, Kaido had dreamed of creating a Zoan-type Devil Fruit army. He hadn't succeeded yet, but he hadn't given up either. Now he wanted to start by forming a fleet.

So this fruit was very useful to him.

"Alright. You can have it. Just make sure to give it to someone strong—don't waste it."

Renji nodded and tossed the Yamata no Orochi-form Zoan fruit to Kaido. He understood Kaido's intentions, and frankly, he had no interest in the fruit.

In Orochi's hands, it had been completely wasted.

But in the hands of someone capable, it could reach its full potential.

"Captain, can I eat the Hurricane Fruit?"

Ginny hesitated. At first, she hadn't wanted one. But the more she thought about it, the more she realized how weak she was. And this fruit seemed to be calling to her.

She wanted to eat it.

"Sure. This fruit suits your nature."

Renji nodded and handed her the Hurricane Fruit.

Now there were two fruits left. Old John's eyes gleamed—no one else had asked for them, so he wasn't going to hold back.

"Renji, I think our finances are a bit tight. Want me to help handle these two?"

"We can sell the Clone-Clone Fruit, but I want to keep the Barrier Fruit. I might find the right person for it later."

Compared to the Barrier Fruit, the Clone-Clone Fruit wasn't all that useful.

Old John beamed. Even one fruit was good enough.

"Great, I'll get this one sold for you!"

Excited, he took the Clone-Clone Fruit and carefully packed it away. As no one wanted the last fruit, Renji kept it for now.

Ginny ate the Hurricane Fruit. As soon as she did, she felt the presence of wind—like it was whispering messages from afar.

"Captain, I think I can hear distant voices... and I think I can send my voice on the wind to others."

It could be useful for communication in split-up battles. But she knew this wasn't the fruit's full power. Its true strength lay in combat.

"If you have any trouble developing your fruit, come to me. Same for you, Toki. Your fruit has tons of potential. You should try ideas like creating a temporal field—where time inside moves slower or faster than the outside—or even suspends entirely."

There were endless possibilities for time-based powers.

"I can try..."

Toki didn't feel too confident, but she didn't think it was impossible.

"What about Wano? What's your plan?"

The Kozuki and Kurozumi clans had been wiped out, but resistance still remained.

"We'll recruit some and remove the rest. Those willing to accept our rule can live. The rest... won't."

Reforming Wano wasn't about speeches. It would take blood.

After that, all Renji had to do was provide jobs, ensure food and shelter, and use law to restrain the strong. Once he won over the commoners, he could remake Wano into the world he envisioned.

"I have a request."

Kaido raised his hand.

Seeing Renji's look, he quickly added, "After this is over, I want to go out to sea for a while—to find good candidates and bring them to Wano for training."

There weren't many suitable people in Wano. Kaido wanted to find talent, build his own division.

He wasn't the captain—but his subordinates had to meet his standards.

"I'm heading out too. I want to retrieve my treasure and bring it back to Wano. But I'm telling you now, Renji, you better not lay a finger on it!"

John had been gone for years. He feared someone might discover and steal his hoard, so he wanted to bring it back himself.

"I'll go with you."

Renji's eyes lit up. He was curious just how much treasure John really had.

Besides, he also needed to grab the gold from Skypiea.

"What about Wano?"

John looked at Renji in surprise. With the three of them gone, could Kuma and the others really protect it?

"Isn't he here?"

Renji summoned a shadow clone next to him.

He'd leave the clone behind. With Kamui and marked coordinates, he could return at any time.

As long as the shadow clone stayed, Wano was secure.

"Then go ahead. I'll watch over things here!"

"And make sure those four train hard."

Ivankov had battle potential. Kuma was at Warlord level—at least First Mate tier. Ginny was uncertain, while Toki was very weak—but both had extremely high fruit potential. Renji was happy to help nurture them.

"This really is spooky..."

John muttered but said no more. The stronger Renji got, the better for him.

He knew the truth: he could only ride Renji's coattails. His life had been saved at God Valley—if not for Renji, he'd be long dead.

"So all of you better train seriously. I'll be watching!"

The shadow clone smiled cheerfully at them. Everyone but Kuma paled—something about that look gave them a very bad feeling.

[One Piece Renji]: "Wano is secured. Time to prep for the Age of Pirate Domination. Gonna lay low here for a bit."

[Renji (Naruto)]: "I'm really looking forward to the legendary Four Pirates now!"

Originally it had been just Whitebeard, Roger, and Golden Lion. But now Renji had joined the fray—it almost felt fated.

[One Piece Renji]: "Guess it's up to you all now."

For now, his part was done. Next, it was time to see who could earn more lottery draws.
