Number two unit Xia Pingzhou sat up from the attic, propping his right hand on the mattress, and turned his head to look out the window.
The setting sun slanted to the west, its light slowly gathering away from Tokyo, casting a crimson hue over the glass facade that was visible through the attic window.
He washed his face and went downstairs, seeing the empty coffee shop, without a trace of the kimono girl and the ninja uncle, but instead spotting a woman in a bright red dress sitting in a corner chair.
Her eyes were lowered, quietly enjoying her drink. Upon closer inspection, it was none other than number 9 of the brigade — "Bloodline."
The door was open, and the sunset light poured in. The woman's pale golden hair was almost turned white by the sunset's rays.
She cupped her cheek, looked at him with her crimson eyes, and curled her lips: "Tsk, typical of a cat, spending the day either napping or purring for attention."
