Wes, the man who smiled a lot and said fancy words like "synergy" (which means working together well) and "scale responsibly" (which means growing carefully). Wes, who had taken their special idea for the game, copied their design, and even tried to get Cole to leave Lucy and work for him. (Good luck with that, he thought!)
She stared at the email Cole had sent her. It was full of proof: pictures, dates, and even a secret message that Wes had accidentally sent on a computer chat. That message had her full name, the word "leverage" (which means to use something for power), and a snake picture.
Lucy blinked at her laptop. "He used a snake picture for me! Like a bad guy in a cartoon movie!"
