Andrew didn't know how to feel about what he'd just discovered.
Why had she signed that contract with him, selling herself to him when no man had ever touched her?
He'd assumed... damnit, he'd assumed she was just lying, trying to fool him. Now he realized how harshly his heartless words must have hit her.
Maybe it was because of the fact that her small body was right beneath his own, because he could feel her warmth, perceive her scent, maybe it was because he was buried deep inside her in this moment, but the anger he'd felt towards himself and towards her vanished.
His mind and rationality instantly took a backseat again as he found himself gazing down into her face. It was dark enough for her not to see him, but he could see the features of her face faintly. He'd spent enough time in the dark to be able to learn how to be one with it.
Her eyes were closed really tight, her brows furrowed in pain.
