"No father would have sent his daughter on such a mission, and yet he gave his blessings so easily," The Queen said without emotion, "I believe you understand this means he has no regard for your well-being? Should anything happen to you while on Vaskor's territory, the king will not step in. Not ever."
Ember smiled. "It's not like we devised this plan expecting him to play the role of a loving, caring father," she said, staring into the distance as the air whipped against her face on the balcony of her room, "it's precisely because we expected him to send me into the chaos that we've waited patiently for this day."
The Queen, who stood besides her as well on the balcony turned to face her while wearing a blank expression.
"Should anything happen to you, I myself will not interfere as well." She said strongly, her tone biting cold.
But Ember didn't feel the coldness in her words, instead she felt the concern that the Queen couldn't afford to show.
