Chapter 81 - OPRS: Chapter 81

Robin clearly remembered when she started keeping a diary.

It was after settling in, after constantly writing for that strange man, recording his words. She started writing her own diary as well.

She developed a mechanical habit: her hand wrote down what her ears heard, a conditioned reflex, bypassing her brain.

This increased her speed.

She recorded and organized most of Alistair's words.

His commands were embedded within them.

Every night, she read these notes and wrote her diary.

On her rare day off, Robin reread her previous entries.

May 4th, Sunny.

Mock Town was besieged; that man defeated over four hundred pirates—with a hundred.

He controlled Mock Town and claimed it as his territory.

In the Grand Line, this was foolish and reckless, I thought.

But when Hancock appeared, I knew he was dangerous.

He even charmed Hancock; he'd considered the Shichibukai's privileges; Mock Town would become a Shichibukai territory!

I realized this too late to leave.

A hundred men defeated Mock Town's pirates, capturing them all, and instantly revealing my identity, forcing my submission.

I was sure of his ambition—he was interested in someone like me, with a 79 million Berry bounty and little combat ability. His ambitions were significant!

He didn't harm me; he made me his scribe.

What is a scribe?

May 5th, Sunny.

Now I know. I write everything—it's exhausting! This is why I started this diary.

The Hana Hana no Mi's potential is terrifying. I developed a new use: eyes and ears on my arms to record everyone's words and actions. He wants me to record everyone's words and actions.

Does he think I'm a god? Though I can do it…

This mindless recording is soulless!

What a madman…

May 6th, Sunny.

I've become accustomed to this mindless recording. I even created personality models for the pirates, based on their words, predicting their actions.

This is near godlike; I never thought someone could do this.

He uses these abilities to analyze the pirates' psychology; he's not worried about them.

Their thoughts are within his grasp.

I'm curious how he controlled the pirates' morale before I arrived.

I'm a spy genius.

May 7th, Sunny.

I've adapted to life here—this isn't good.

But working under him, aside from the exhaustion, is fine.

It's stable and prosperous; I don't need to worry. The pirates probably feel the same.

They live precarious lives at sea, filled with risk and adventure. Some may enjoy this, but most are ordinary.

If offered stability, they'd choose it…

Snap out of it, Nico Robin! You can read the historical texts; this man won't simply use you as a scribe! This is a facade!

May 8th, Sunny.

His hot air balloon actually worked.

He said heating air creates lift; even without Ace, ordinary people could use fire to lift a balloon.

This explains the merchants' enthusiasm.

But he'd anticipated this, buying all of Mock Town's supplies. I kept the accounts; the merchants will have to buy from us at high prices.

Hee hee.

May 9th, Sunny.

Pirate training intensified; he started selecting wavering pirates.

Some, hearing about the Shichibukai and seeing a Logia user, decided to join us.

I could easily tell from their behavior.

Others wavered; they still had adventurous spirits or ambitions, but they couldn't express them due to the collective punishment system. They must feel stifled. Hee hee.

Why select them?

Will he kill them? That's unnecessary and illogical.

Or…

May 10th, Sunny.

Today is the seventh day; everyone rests. Mock Town is bustling.

Without the Shichibukai flag, more pirates would have come. But those without money can't spend much.

"Spending power"—another interesting term from him.

I didn't have a day off; he took me to the forest to train in Observation Haki.

Hancock, seemingly worried about us being alone, followed. A jealous woman is cute.

May 11th, Light Rain.

Digging trenches now seems illogical.

But hardship is part of training; enemies don't stop attacking due to rain—that's what he said.

The pirates grumbled.

But the hot air balloons are tested; they might ascend in two days; everyone wants to go to Skypiea.

It's not just an opportunity; it's an honor.

I wonder if the previous list was those prohibited from going to Skypiea?
