Chapter 1 - The Man

In the Primal Age. The gods made animals and monsters. Then created the 5 races. The Elves, the Demons, the Dwarves, the Bestials, and the Humans.

The gods gave gifts of power to them.

The Elves were given Drudea.

The Demons were given Magic.

The Dwarves were Aura.

The Bestials were given Spirit.

While the humans....

Were given nothing but their bodies. During the Primal Age, the humans suffered greatly. While the other races survived and thrived with their powers.

The Elves wielded nature with Drudea to defend themselves, and provide food. They never knew hunger as fruits were abundant to them. The Demons ravaged their enemies with brutal Magics. They never feared danger. The Dwarves mastered Aura, to make themselves sturdier than steel and sharper than obsidian. They were immovable. The Bestials called upon their inner Spirit to manifest strong abilities. They ruled the wilds.

The humans scrambled and hid. With only their bodies, monsters of odd powers and strong beasts minced them. Barely living into adulthood, and most barely avoiding hunger. The primal age was hard for them. As for the humans that rose above? They were unknown legends never remembered. How they rose above? The how was lost by forgetting minds and dead tongues.

Then came the Morning Age. Where humans were taught the powers of other races. Leading them out of a long night that was the Primal Age. However, it was a rude awakening.

The Elf thought themselves superior with long lifespans, easy lives, and fadeless beauty. They rarely shared anything with human, and more rarely taught Drudea. The Demons mocked, jeered, and even enslaved humans. Thinking them as pathetic and easy toys for their weakness. Magic was hard learned and usually learned secretly. Bestials saw humans as weak and lesser. Things that were weak and lesser were prey. Thus, humans were food. Humans that learned Spirit from them were the rarer than those that learned Drudea, but no rarer than Magic learners. Finally, the Dwarves were the kindest to humans. Although they found humans mostly talentless. Many learned Aura from Dwarves.

In this age, legendary humans were known. However, only the gods know that the legends of the Morning Age were different from the Legends of the Primal Age.

The Sun Age is where the races found faith in the gods. Civilization was formed in earnest. Nations were born and the wilds were pushed back.

After that was the Blood Age. Where war was constant. The races all waged endless war against each other. The Humans were allied with Dwarves and Elves allied with Bestials. The Demons stood alone.

The Humans and Dwarves won overall. The humans could reproduce the quickest and fought with overwhelming numbers. The Dwarves were the most strong-willed warriors that never faltered. The Elves with low fertility could not replace warriors fast enough, and had to concede. Being relegated to small nations dotted around the land's forests. The Bestials were wild and fought with little thought. Which led to their defeat at sharper minds. The Demons that fought everyone wasted lives and resources. They were forced back to their lands and made to remain there while ceding half their territory.

Finally, came the Age of Curiosity. Where effort was towards knowledge, training to new heights, and invention.

This is where The Man that mastered the gift to humans to the highest level. The one that changed the world. The one who said the famous words that would be remembered forevermore by every human.

"I was born with everything I need."
