The blade cut clean. And the woman choked.
Her body slowly slipped to the floor, Kieran's terrified eyes following her fall and Cade heaving loudly as soon as she hit the ground.
He screamed, "NO!" His voice carried the weight of his pain and regret... And his legs felt heavy with them as he rushed into the guy. "Why did you do it?!"
He swiftly bent beneath his blow and wrapped his arm around his waist, hoping to be able to push him to the ground that way. But the guy here was unyielding — as soon as Cade held his waist, he fixed his legs tightly to the ground such that no matter how hard Cade grunt through the struggles, he couldn't move him an inch.
Then he slammed his elbow into his back.
Cade yelped as the force got his stomach hitting the concrete ground so hard he vomited blood. But... the fact that he didn't die from this meant even his mind that didn't have the chance to hear the truth from the old hag's mouth, wasn't ready to give up.
