Chapter 40 - The Acquired Treasures

Spark sat on the edge of his luxurious bed. One where four naked beauties were still asleep. Entangled with the blanket and bed sheet.

It was time to check the inventory.

With a thought, a small shimmering portal to the void appear. He reached into the void to take his Spatial Belt Gear.

First, the greatest prize of the night. His most valuable acquisition sealed inside his Slave Grimoire. Princess Kissara. He hadn't had a moment to properly examine her details. After seizing her from the Royal Treasury Chamber. Now was the time.

He pulled the leather-bound book from the spatial storage. It felt cool and ancient in his hands. Despite it being his own creation fueled by his unique rune knowledge.

Cracking it open, he flipped the pages. Bypassing the pages dedicated to Lilith, Ivy, Serenade, and Melody. Landing on the fresh entry. The newest one...

Spark observed the information panel. Technomancer. Just like Lilith. A combination of Soulcraft and Technomind mastery. Useful versatility.

As for her level. Enhanced, Tier 2. Both Soul and Mind Power at that level. Not bad for a royal princess her age.

Her Body Power was at the level of Awakened, Tier 1. Despite not having any talent in physical field. Not bad.

He looked at the Talents listed. Witch Soul. The grimoire provided a brief explanation. It was a powerful, innate talent. It massively empowered her mastery over gucraft. A complex, often dark form of insect-based magic. Focused on curses and hexes.

It also explained her affinity for the darker side of her soulcraft. Attracting 'dark and spooky' fairies for contracts. The Curse Fairy and Ghost Fairy made perfect sense with this talent. A potent foundation for arcane power.

The second talent: Eldritch Mind. This talent granted her a high affinity towards eldritch element. Unknown space and mystery. It provided her high compatibility with spatial and mysterious gearcores.

The Spatial-bag and Mystic-key types listed under her Technomind Gear section were clear manifestations of this talent.

Then he looked at the personalities. Sadistic. Selfish. Arrogant. Merciless. Four dominant personalities. And all of them were bad.

Spark snorted. Truly a spoiled princess. And a real evil witch. Those personality traits were completely incompatible with his desire for obedient, pliable tools.

He needed to make drastic mental modifications. Before he could even consider allowing her out of the grimoire's direct control. Much less integrate her into his small, controlled circle.

He could not allow someone with this inherently volatile and vicious traits out. Even with loyalty magically enforced. It was a high security risk.

But modifying her required the modifier currency specific to her soul signature. And her modifier currency was... Blazing Lava.

Spark frowned slightly. It wasn't rare in the grand scheme of things. Almost every active volcano across Anearth produced it.

But it was troublesome. He couldn't simply buy blazing lava on the market. It would no longer be 'blazing' when it was taken out of the volcano. He had to go collect it himself.

He quickly adjusted his internal map and schedule. Returning directly to Gutlark Town from Eagledome City was the original plan.

But collecting Blazing Lava was now a priority. Leaving Eagledome, he would need to divert west. To the only volcano in the island, Regalheart Volcano.

He needed to travel to the closest significant settlement to the volcano. The Imphoenix Town. It was a mining town full with rough miners and prospectors.

He would need to go there first. Collect the necessary modifier currency. Modify the princess. Then decide the next move.

Back to the princess herself. He scanned down the rest of her stats. The Soulcraft Fairy section. Curse Fairy and Ghost Fairy. Decent choices for someone with Witch Soul.

The Shared Talents were impressive. Mythical Mana Capacity and Instant Casting. Mythical Mana Capacity meant she had an incredibly deep reserve of energy to cast his crest spells. Far beyond what her tier normally allowed.

Instant Casting meant she could cast crest spells without preparation or incantation. Similar to the shared talent he gained from his seven-element fairy, Honey. A terrifying advantage in combat.

The soulcraft crest spells were alright. Weakness Curse, temporarily weakening the target's body and mind. And Spirit Form, temporarily turn the target intangible. Useful utility.

But the listed Growth Items... Black Diamond and Primordial Bone. Spark recognized those names. And he knew that both were extremely hard to find. Advancing to the next level would be extremely difficult for her.

Her Technomind Gear section was similarly a mixed bag of potential and difficulty. Spatial-bag Type and Mystic-key Type. These were rare and incredibly useful gearcores.

Spark's Spatial Belt Gear came from a spatial-bag type gearcore. Its great utility was definitely high.

Mystic-key type was even harder to find. It could be developed into master keys. Capable of bypassing magical and technological locks, seals, and security systems. It was what she had used to unlock the Royal Treasury Chamber.

The Shared Talents were alright. Spatial Sense was the same with what he gained from his spatial-bag type gearcore. It granted heightened awareness of spatial fluctuations and constructs.

Enhanced Accuracy improved precision in targeting with abilities or devices. A pretty standard shared talent.

But once again, the Growth Items were the bottleneck. Space Stone and Eldritch Sapphire. Both were extremely rare. Extremely hard to get.

Basically, Kissara Eaglecrown, was a treasure trove of high-potential abilities. Shackled by incredibly rare growth items. Spark didn't worry much though. His [Overlord's Favor] talent could make up for the level-up difficulty.

Spark closed the Grimoire. He had a plan now. He would leave Eagledome when the city lockdown was retracted.

He needed to go on a trip to the fiery maw of a volcano. Not the ideal vacation spot. But it was necessary for turning a vicious princess into a loyal, powerful asset.

He carefully placed the Slave Grimoire back into his Spatial Belt. The villa was quiet, save for the soft breathing of the women beside him.

He hadn't finished checking for his loot. Next would be... the fairies. He took out he Fairy Grimoire from his Spatial Belt. And opened it to check the uncontracted fairies.

There was Aster of course. The Mirage Fairy he gained along with Honey and Holy. She hadn't been contracted yet.

And then, he still had two more uncontracted fairies from the Great Auction.

A Devil Fairy. Primal fairy with dangerous contract-based magic.

And an Earth Fairy. One that was excellent for manipulation of terrain.

Then came the next haul. The loot from the Royal Treasury Nine new entries. He quickly checked their information. Taking in their unique energetic signatures.

Two Arcane Fairies. Like Honey. Common, yet versatile. Excellent.

Two Fire Fairies. Obvious application. Fire control.

A Water Fairy. Another obvious one. Water manipulation spells.

A Lightning Fairy. Lilith contracted one like this. Speed and burst damage. Excellent.

A Flower Fairy. Ivy had one of these. Either for rapid growth, poisons or healing. Quite nice.

An Eldritch Fairy. This one was… alien. Mysterious. Secretive. Strange abilities.

Finally, a Draconic Fairy. This one resonated with immense, ancient power. Dragon breath. Physical enhancement. Flight. This one was amazing.

Eleven fairies in total now. Ready to be contracted. He and his women were all able to use Soulcraft. For a long time... they didn't need to worry looking for fairies to contract whenever they leveled up.

And there were still gearcores to check. Spark mentally accessed the space in his Spatial Belt.

He originally had one unintegrated gearcore. The sky-ship type he gained from the Great Auction. He envisioned integrating with it. Utilizing his currently-being-built sky ship as the model and material.

It would be much more convenient. Turning his sky ship into a Technomind Gear. It potentially allowing him to summon and store a sky-ship on demand. And easily upgrading it when it was ready for upgrade.

But then... He gained ten more gearcores from the Royal Treasury. And he hadn't actually checked them. He started observing the gearcores.

Two Gun types. Hot weapon core. Capable of manifesting into various types of firearms. Either scientific or magical. He already had one. But his women could use them.

Two Armor types. Defensive gears that could manifest intricate, powerful suits of armor. Again, they could be magical, or mechanical. Depending on the user's creative design. Might be necessary for protection.

A Blade type. Cold weapon core. It could manifest into swords, axes, or other bladed constructs. Useful for melee situation.

A Puppet type. This one was interesting. It could likely manifest sophisticated constructs. Perhaps even humanoid ones. It needed to be controlled by the user. Either through magic thread, energy wave, mental power, or other methods.

A Golem type. Similar to the puppet type but this one was more automated. With basic Artificial Intelligence.

A Flight-device type. It was different from the sky-ship type. It could manifest as personal flight systems. Jetpacks, wings, anti-gravity units. It offered personal mobility. Tactical advantages.

A Motorbike type. An alternative for horses or other mounts. Offering terrestrial speed and mobility. Fast transport over land. Useful for ground-based quick travel.

And finally, a Force-field type. A defensive utility. Generating barriers, shields, perhaps even kinetic impact fields. It was, in most cases, much more valuable than the armor-type or shield-type gearcore.

Eleven gearcores in total. Each representing a significant choice for development. Spark smiled in satisfaction.

He stood up. Eagledome City was still reeling from the attack. It would be a beehive of activity, investigations, and power plays.

Spark Nighthawk had no intention of lingering. To be caught in the political cleanup. He would leave whenever it was possible to leave.
