Before I was transferred, someone helped me. Without saying a word, they brought me to an unfamiliar place.
I glanced around, confused. The ground beneath me felt strange, and the more I thought about it, the more my head throbbed.
It didn't seem like that person was watching me anymore...
But for some reason, I had the distinct feeling that someone was observing me.
"Hey, kid."
I hadn't even had time to take in my surroundings when a voice startled me. This place felt like a void—or perhaps it truly was.
"Um… excuse me, but who are you?"
"Who, me?"
"Oh—right, sorry. I forgot to introduce myself."
He pulled back his cloak and stood tall. His voice sounded about my age, though he had a slightly playful tone.
"My name is Noah. I'm a god."
I blinked, unsure if I'd heard him correctly.
A god? I couldn't believe it. How could someone like this be a god? But despite my disbelief, he seemed friendly enough—almost too casual for a deity. He wore a cloth eye cover adorned with golden patterns.
Without warning, Noah placed a hand on my shoulder and asked:
"Hey, little buddy. You wanna be reincarnated?"
"Huh?! Wait—what?!"
My mind spun. I couldn't process it. The question caught me so off guard that I stood frozen—and apparently, so did the people who had been quietly observing us this whole time.
Suddenly, someone bumped into me, pushing me slightly back. I turned to see a girl with sleek headphones, glaring at Noah.
"Hey, Lord Noah! You're being way too reckless!"
"I know you're powerful, but why him?!"
She pointed straight at me.
Noah raised a hand. "Hold on, Ren—"
So, her name was Ren. She interrupted him, grabbed the front of my shirt, and stared into my eyes with a sharp gaze.
"Hey… do you even know who you are?"
"Uh… yeah, I do."
"Good. Then why—"
Before she could finish, Noah quickly yanked me away, clearly sensing where this conversation might lead. He chuckled nervously.
I remained quiet, trying to understand the situation, but my eyes met Ren's again—now blazing with frustration.
"Relax, Ren. I've thought this through. Trust me."
"You're always like this!" she snapped.
As she started to argue, Noah suddenly pulled her closer—and pushed her toward me.
Caught off guard, Ren stumbled and fell against me, her face turning bright red—as did mine.
"Ugh… so inconsiderate…"
"Get up already… I can't breathe!"
Ren scrambled up, flustered and blushing furiously.
Then Noah grinned at me.
"How about Ren goes with you?"
I was speechless. Ren, still blushing, shouted:
"WHAT?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
Ignoring her protests, Noah began preparing the reincarnation ritual. Both of us were left stunned.
In an instant, I felt my body change—shifting into the form of the character I had once created in a game: Haruka Nexus.
"My body… it changed!"
Without warning, I was transported again—this time to a vast, lush, unfamiliar world. I hadn't even begun to process it all when a wave of exhaustion washed over me.
Feeling oddly sleepy, I lay down.
"HEY! Don't just relax like that!" Ren yelled in frustration.
"WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE WE ARE!"
Suddenly, a loud explosion echoed nearby.
BOOM!
Startled, we sprinted toward the sound. Ren soon noticed how fast and agile I had become.
Who exactly is he? she wondered, quickly following.
We arrived to find a group of bandit-like figures. Three vehicles lay nearby—two wrecked, one barely intact. A few meters away, a group of captives huddled together: five men, three women, and four children.
There were 17 bandits: two brutes, seven armed guards, two mages, five fighters, and a leader.
Ren and I quickly assessed the scene. Before I could suggest a plan, Ren smirked.
"I can handle this myself."
Without warning, she leaped from the cliff and struck one of the bandits with ease.
"Heh. Is that all?"
But she didn't notice one sneaking up behind her. Instinctively, I jumped down, landing on the attacker and knocking him out cold. The rest of the bandits panicked.
Together, we fought to protect the captives. One by one, the bandits fell—until only their leader remained. We subdued him, tying him tightly for questioning.
The freed captives rushed to us, grateful beyond words.
"Thank you… thank you so much!"
"Without you, we'd have been doomed!"
"Please—accept this small token of gratitude."
An elderly man stepped forward, offering us gifts. I politely declined.
"For me, helping others should come from the heart."
Everyone seemed comforted by my words. Even Ren's gaze toward me had softened—if only for a moment.
Suddenly, a deep roar echoed through the air.
RRRRRAAAWWWW!
A monstrous sound.
We spotted a girl battling a ferocious beast, exhaustion etched on her face.
Without hesitation, I rushed forward to help her.
