Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 - Only The Strong Are Victorious

"Sorry, I kept you all waiting! But, don't worry, since I'm here, no attack will even touch you now!"

Henry Smith said, proudly announcing his arrival.

"The ones before were immune to physical attacks, that's why none of them broke my barrier, it was only broken by the immense amount of magic you used. However, this barrier is immune to magic! It can block any and all magic attacks if I do say so myself."

Henry Smith said, proudly.

"That was a close one! Great work Henry Smith!"

The raid leader said, appreciating him.

"But, don't get distracted! This battle is far from over!"

The raid leader said again, with a serious expression.

The Goblin King kept on raining down magic strikes, Fire Balls, Fire Lances, Ice Arrows, Ice Spears, Wind Blades, Wind Bullets, Water Cannons, Water Bullets, Rock Bullets, and Bolder Crush.

However, all it did was crack the barrier slightly which repaired moments after.

The goblin king stopped for a moment after simultaneously unleashing massive amounts of magic.

"Your "Barrier Magic" is quite sturdy, I will give you that!"

The Goblin King Shaman said, praising Henry Smith impressive "Barrier Magic".

"However, it's time to end this, least I bring shame upon Lord _______!"

The Goblin King Shaman shouted, and all the ten magic circles disappeared, and were replaced with one giant magic circle instead which was manifested above his head. He closed his eyes, and began enchanting strange words.

[ O Lord Of The Forgotten Realm ]

[ Grant Thee Lowly Servant A Portion Of Thy Omnipotence ]

[ You Shall Awaken From Thy Slumber And Perish Thee Insects Who Defy Thy Rule ]

Maybe he was preparing for an attack that could wipe out everyone on the battlefield in a single spell.

Seeing the goblin king stop for just a moment, the raid leader saw this as an opportunity, and horizontally held his long sword in a striking position on his left waist. The sword began to envelop in a green hue. He then swung his long sword from his position, and did not move an inch. The green hue that enveloped his sword disappeared as soon as his swung it, and formed a green slashing blade was traveled at incredible speed, and slashed through the Goblin King's stomach from center to left. The slash disappeared after it had completed it's task, and left a gapping, open wound on the Goblin King Shaman.

"I don't know what you were trying to say there, but I'm no fool! I knew immediately what you going to do! Did you think that I would just stand there and watch you prepare an attack?!"

The raid leader said, irritatingly, and panting.

As soon as the slash had slashed through the right side of his stomach, the Goblin King screeched in pain. Blood kept flowing out like waterfalls because of his huge body size.

The blood that flowed out of his body was not red like humans or animals or other monsters. It was green, dark green. It was incredibly dark that it almost looked black. Except for the raid leader everyone was surprised including me because this was the first time me and the other Scythes had seen a Wormhole Portal monster with dark green blood. Maybe it was because the Goblin King was a Lord-Class monster. Meaning that all Lord-Class monsters have blood that is not red. Does every Lord-Class monster have same colored blood, or is it different for every one of them? A question that I will need to find out in the future. Or maybe Wisdom can answer that for me. Nevertheless, everyone was surprised by the dark green blood spilling out of the Goblin King's opened stomach.

Because of his enchanting, the Goblin King did not realize that the raid leader was preparing an attack of his own, and failed to notice the incoming slash that cleaved through his stomach.

His chanting broken, and the blood flowing out that was notable, he tried to stop the bleeding by pressing his palms on his stomach as the orb in his hand disappeared into thin air.

Blood that kept flowing out made a small pool on the ground.

Failing to trying to hold his footing, he took a few steps back, but ultimately failed to stand still, and slipped on his own pool of blood.

Sensing that an opportunity like that will not come twice, everyone dashed forward, and pierced the Goblin King's body with their weapons, and dragged their pierced weapons through his body. The mage's wasted no time as they rained down their magic on the Goblin King like hellfire when the Scythes had made some distance between them, and the Goblin King. None of them gave him any chance to get up, and fight back as the Goblin King Screeched in pain.

"One last time! And then, he'll be done for!"

The raid leader said. Preparing everyone for one last attack.

"Give it everything you've got!"

Along with everyone, the raid leader dashed forward once again, and unleashed their strongest attacks.

"Slash Fall"

The raid leader unleashed his strongest attack.

"Hellfire's First Flame"

Jasmine Sung unleashed her strongest attack.

One by one, every Scythe unleashed their strongest attacks until there was nothing left of the Goblin King's arrogant existence except for his lifeless body that had been burned, cut, slashed, bruised, and stabbed.

"Scythes of the High Rise City! We have won!"

The raid leader announced in a stern voice.

"We really defeated a Lord-Class monster!"

"Even if it was a goblin, it was still a Lord-Class!"

"Yay!"

"We really won!"

Everyone laughed, and finally enjoyed their victory.

But, there was still one thing that they did not realize.

All of their attacks were successful because Marine Millers was supporting them from the background without even them realizing. She was supporting everyone even though she herself was in a much worse condition compared with others since her mana had not fully recovered.

And because of supporting everyone with the little mana she had, she passed out soon after, and collapsed to the ground.

"Thud"

The sound echoed throughout the throne room. When they looked back, they saw Marine Millers lying on the ground. They quickly rushed toward her, checked if she was alright. To everyone worries, she had just passed out because of mana depletion, and would wake up as soon as she recovered her mana. Realizing that, everyone let out a sigh of relief.
