At Hammer's anxious shout, a soldier quickly raised the black smoke launcher and began spraying it toward the ship's stern.
A thick cloud of black smoke instantly engulfed the rear of the warship.
"Hmm? Smoke?"
"Hmph! My crew's not that easy to fool. Sebastian, keep chasing!"
A red light flashed in World's eyes as he activated his Observation Haki. The location of the warship appeared instantly in his mind.
The fishman giant Sebastian sped up again, charging through the smoke with the pirate ship and staying tightly on the warship's tail.
"Damn it! Of course, a veteran pirate like him has Observation Haki..."
Hammer smacked his own forehead in frustration. In his panic, he'd completely forgotten about Haki.
He opened the stats:

Countless bullets were stopped instantly by the cube wall.

"Lance, take care of him!"
Hammer knew well how unreasonable Devil Fruit users could be.
Hearing the order, Lance leapt onto the lookout post and aimed his rapid-fire rifle at Gairam.

Only one bullet was blocked. The other two hit Gairam's arm and leg.
Due to the pain, the cube wall vanished instantly.
Bullets rained down on the pirate ship.
"Take cover!"
"Geppo!"
Furious, Byrnndi World soared into the air while his crew scrambled for cover.
"Damn Marines!"
"Moa Moa, Tenfold Bullets!"
Enraged, World drew his pistol. Using his fruit's power, he fired bullets enhanced tenfold in speed and force at the warship.
"The Moa Moa Fruit, huh…"
"Keep attacking! I'll hold him off!"
"Armament Haki, Shattering Hammer! Flying Fire Strike!"
Hammer combined Shingan with his Hammer-Hammer Fruit power and launched a hammer-strike attack.
The blast clashed with the tenfold bullet in midair.
BOOM!
A deafening explosion rocked the sky.
"Lance, how much longer until we reach the New World?"
"At least thirty more minutes…"
Hammer stared grimly at Byrnndi World, now airborne.
"Keep suppressing the other pirates…"
"I'll handle the one in the sky. Shirley, Lance, if any enemy officers join in, it's up to you!"

"Geppo!"
With his swift boots, Hammer rocketed into the sky.
"Oh? You've got guts, kid!"
"Too bad... your opponent is me, Byrnndi World, the World Destroyer!"
"Die now! Moa Moa, Tenfold Speed!"
Boosted by his fruit, Byrnndi World charged at Hammer.
"Tch! Old man, let me teach you something, this era belongs to creativity!"
"Frostbane, Frozen Wind!"
Hammer narrowly dodged with his boots and taunted while spinning like a top in the air.
His icy sword, Frostbane, spun rapidly too, releasing a freezing chill.
Frost quickly formed on World's body as the cold air surrounded him.
"A sword that emits freezing air? Nice. It's mine now!"
"In your dreams! No way I'm letting you take my baby!"
"Armament Haki, Slash!"
His blade turned jet black as he activated Armament Haki.
"Moa Moa, Fortyfold Slash!"
World responded with his own strike.
His one-meter cutlass instantly extended midswing into a forty-meter-long monstrosity blade.
An actual forty-meter sword!
Hammer, originally about to attack, immediately switched to defense.
"Damn! Let me run 39 meters first, will you?!"
The massive blade crashed down. Hammer, helpless, braced with Frostbane.
CLANG!
The weapons collided.
Hammer felt a tremendous force shoot through his arms. The next second, he was blasted away like a cannonball.
"Soru!
"Soru!"
"Damn it!"
"Windbreaker! Wind hammer!"
"STOP!!"
After failing multiple Soru attempts, Hammer had no choice but to raise his right fist and use Windbreaker to stop himself with a violent gust.
"Damn it... this World Destroyer guy is terrifying…"
"How the hell did Luffy take this monster down?"
While cursing, Hammer stabilized himself because World was charging again.
"No more tricks. Die now, little marine!"
"Moa Moa, Twentyfold Speed!"
"Armament, Hardening!"
World's arms turned black with Haki.
Hammer's face changed. He tapped the brim of his hat and vanished.
"Huh? Invisibility? Clear-Clear Fruit? No..."
While World was confused
A barrage of powerful shockwaves erupted.
"Shattering Hammer - Rapid Fire Strikes!"
