Three days ago, Adam had raised his Genius class to level 8, meeting the caster level requirement for 2nd-tier magic.
The 2nd-tier spell he'd long coveted, Item Appraisal was finally his.
However, 2nd-tier spells consumed more mana, 10 points per cast.
With his limited mana pool, Adam could only cast a 2nd-tier spell once per cycle. Factoring in mana recovery, he was capped at two casts per day.
It took him two days to fully appraise the magical items he'd acquired.

With Item Appraisal, Adam finally understood the four magical items' properties.
Of the four, only the Mithril Dagger didn't suit his current fighting style. The other three were immediately useful.
The Arcane Staff stood out as the most valuable.
Even Adam was surprised, it boosted mana recovery speed.
The effect was modest, but such equipment easily fetched over 1,000 gold coins.
In YGGDRASIL, while healing potions restored HP, no potions recovered MP, a stark contrast to games Adam knew from his past life.
For YGGDRASIL magic casters, mana was their lifeline.
Thus, every caster sought magical items to hasten mana recovery.
Additionally, in YGGDRASIL, classes were restricted from using weapons of other classes.
Even after the Great Tomb of Nazarick arrived in the New World, this rule persisted for Ainz and his cohort.
New World natives faced no such limits.
Magic casters could wield short swords or draw bows.
Adam, too, was unbound by these restrictions, rendering "class restriction" data in appraisals irrelevant to him.
Curiously, Item Appraisal still identified "class restrictions," suggesting the spell's output was influenced by the user's knowledge.
At present, Adam had mastered two other 2nd-tier spells besides Item Appraisal
Indeed, his two zero-tier spells had upgraded.
As his caster level rose, Warm And Papermaking displayed an "↑" marker.
Each consumed one skill point to advance to 2nd-tier.
[Skill: Papermaking (2nd-tier) ↑]
[Cost: 10 MP]
[Description: Produces 700 sheets of high-quality paper.]
[Skill: Warm (2nd-tier) ↑]
[Cost: 10 MP]
[Description: Heats a touched object to 300°C over 1 minute, or instantly to 100°C.]
Upgraded to 2nd-tier, both spells showed clear improvements. Warm, originally a mundane lifestyle spell, now had offensive potential.
Instantly heating an object to 100°C could kill an ordinary person, though standard 2nd-tier spells could do the same.
Its real value lay in its growth potential.
Crucially, lifestyle magic like Warm fell outside YGGDRASIL's system, meaning the Great Tomb of Nazarick had no data on it.
As for Papermaking, it now produced 700 sheets instead of 800, and additional mana no longer extended output.
The quantity decreased, but the quality improved.
Adam summoned two sheets from his Item Box, one from the 1st-tier spell, one from the 2nd-tier.
Both were pristine white, but the 2nd-tier paper shimmered faintly under sunlight.
The sheen felt familiar, yet Adam couldn't place it.
After brief contemplation, he cast Item Appraisal on the 2nd-tier paper.
[Item: Material · White Paper (2nd-tier)]
[Level: Lowest Tier]
[Effect: Paper infused with faint magic, highly durable. Text written on it remains unchanged for a century. Usable as an alchemy material.]
[Description: White paper.]
Adam raised an eyebrow.
"Text that lasts a century without fading?" He murmured, intrigued.
Books made from this paper would qualify as "magical" Tomes. Major nobles might covet such durable paper.
Adam considered selling it for profit.
Then, a memory stirred.
The Rock Adventurer team had mentioned nobles owning books with text that endured for ages.
This suggested the New World already had 2nd-tier Papermaking!
At E-Rantel's Magician's Guild, when buying scrolls, Adam only saw zero-tier and 1st-tier Papermaking Scrolls.
Of course, a border city's Magician's Guild wouldn't openly sell 2nd-tier scrolls.
Only after revealing himself as a faith-based magic caster did Adam secure the non-offensive Item Appraisal Scroll.
