"You don't understand the pain I carry. Even if it costs my life, I'll kill him," Kurapika said, his voice raw with emotion.
Clang clang! Chains suddenly appeared, rapidly wrapping around Loki. A powerful aura emanated from them. Kurapika, considering Loki an enemy, held nothing back. The chains moved with incredible speed, appearing around Loki in an instant before snaking towards him.
Boom! A terrifying aura erupted from Loki, like a bomb exploding. The chains were scattered, falling to the ground, their previously potent Nen instantly weakening.
Kurapika, his attack disrupted, regained some composure. He looked at Loki, disbelief etched on his face.
'How could my attack be so weak?!' he thought, looking up at Kurapika.
Seeing Kurapika's incredulous expression, Loki smiled faintly.
"Don't understand?"
"Why? Why could you block my attack with just Nen?" Kurapika asked, his face pale. If Loki had blocked him only with Nen, then all his efforts were meaningless. How could he fight the Phantom Troupe?
This question made Loki laugh.
"Really? It's not that my Nen is strong; yours is uncontrolled, easily seen through."
He turned towards Uvogin in the distance. "Look at your next opponent. His Nen is precisely controlled. Yours wasn't. It was powerful, but uncontrolled, like foam—easily dispersed."
Loki's expression turned serious. "I don't know why you're like this, but if you want to fight the Phantom Troupe, control your Nen. Otherwise, you'll die."
Kurapika paused. "Thank you." He realized that in his previous state, he would have died. He looked at Loki with newfound gratitude.
"Loki, what's your plan?"
Loki looked back, confused. "Why ask me?"
"You weren't controlled by emotion; you must have a plan!" Kurapika said. Uvogin, even from a distance, exuded the aura of a top-tier Nen user. He was strong and had companions, making him even more difficult to deal with. That's why Kurapika wanted to know Loki's plan.
Loki said, "Simple. Capture him, leave, and learn about his companions' abilities and hideouts. Then we'll act."
Kurapika nodded. "If we just need to capture him, I can do it. He won't escape."
Loki opened his mouth to ask something when he sensed something approaching from underground.
'A Beast?' he thought.
A figure emerged from the ground: an earthworm-like creature that could move freely underground. It looked at Loki and Kurapika.
"You're from the Nostrade family?"
"Yes!"
Kurapika was surprised; this person could move underground.
"I'm a Shadow Beast under the Mafia. My code name is Worm. You're Nen users." Worm smiled. "But I advise you not to go. You can't beat them."
"We know the enemy's strength, but we'll go. We have a plan. Thank you for your advice," Kurapika said coldly. He wouldn't be polite to anyone who tried to stop him from fighting the Phantom Troupe. He turned away.
Worm smiled. "Foolish. Didn't you feel that aura just now?"
Kurapika paused, looking at Loki. Uvogin hadn't used much Nen against the mafia; only Loki had released a powerful aura.
Worm ignored Loki, looking at Kurapika. "That aura was terrifying. You wouldn't understand. You'll die if you go."
As they spoke, Loki looked behind him.
"Leave it to us!"
"That terrifying killing intent… they treat killing as commonplace."
"Like us."
Three figures approached.
Three different voices spoke after Earthworm. The three figures approached.
"Those are the attackers!"
"Foolish to attack the mafia's auction."
"Good. Otherwise, we wouldn't have a chance."
They reached Loki and Kurapika. One looked at them.
"Go back! You're no match for him. Leave it to the experts."
They were strong.
Kurapika said, "You're Shadow Beasts?"
"Rabid Dog," "Porcupine," and "Leech" introduced themselves. With Worm, four Shadow Beasts had arrived.
Rabid Dog stood before Loki. "This kid uses Nen? Impressive, but it's too early to fight them!"
Porcupine nodded. "Learning Nen at this age is good."
Loki smiled. "It's fine. Let's watch them die."
This pleased the Shadow Beasts.
Leech said, "Fine, but we won't save you if you're in danger!"
They walked towards Uvogin. Loki and Kurapika followed.
Kurapika wrote, 'What's the point of going with them?' Without needing to be told, Loki used Nen to write, 'Capture the enemy. I'll signal you; then leave.'
Kurapika wanted to ask more, but Loki smiled and stopped talking. Pretending to be Yin Beasts would let them approach Uvogin unnoticed. After Kurapika captured Uvogin, Loki would test his strength against the others.
Loki's potential was strong, but his actual strength wasn't as high. With Yoh's power, he might not be using half his strength. Combat was the best way to control his power and understand his limits. This related to his system missions.
If he could beat the Troupe, he would defeat them, capture Chrollo, and have Baise use her ability. He'd complete two missions quickly. But he hadn't had a real life-or-death battle. His only chance to test his strength was against Hisoka in the Heaven Arena, but Hisoka had quit.
He wasn't afraid of the Troupe one-on-one, but many-on-one was different.
Five people walked towards Uvogin. Earthworm moved underground.
Uvogin, holding a severed head, glanced at them.
"Uvogin! More people! Nen users! Need help?" Nobunaga shouted.
Uvogin threw a body aside. "No, don't interfere. Leave these to me. I'm just warming up."
Nobunaga looked down. "Five Nen users! They came to die."
"They're just beginners," Feitan said.
