Sei stood in front of the three crossroads, each one pulsing with the same glow that seemed to come from the very stone of the cave. The light was no longer an unfamiliar sight to him, but a strange creep still pressed onto him, like the walls themselves were watching.
'What is this strange place, damn. What exactly does that man know?' Sei thought, gulping hard.
His gaze flickered between the paths—

He heard the echo of footsteps behind him, each one measured and slow. The mysterious man was approaching.
Sei had to move, but he couldn't decide where to go. His legs chose for him—running on instinct, he sprinted through the middle one. His shoes tapped against the untouched stone below, slipping at some parts.
