The girl cautiously stepped into the compound, but only then did she realize that she hadn't taken any weapon for her safety. That realization, however, did not stop her from advancing into the big mansion that seemed to want to swallow her whole.
She should've turned back but she continued to move, determined to fulfill her goal. A dark silhouette stood at the window, watching her intently.
She finally stepped inside, there was no one around, not even helpers but it was almost three in the morning so she thought nothing of it. The security, however, was lax. She'd managed to slip in without any resistance, it was almost as if someone had been waiting for her.
Inside, she could only hear the sound of her breathing.
"I should've just asked Gladys for Christopher's number," she murmured to herself.
