At his command, Alaric mindlinked the other werewolf guards, who came growling and snarling minutes later. Some of the guards went out to bring all of her subordinates.
Alpha Allison's face flushed with embarrassment. "Alpha Damon, how could you treat me in such a manner?" Her voice trembled.
Damon didn't spare her a word. He scooped me into his arms, then walked hastily toward his room.
"Father, what is going on?" Theo rushed to Damon, walking beside him. His eyes flicked to my convulsing form in his arms. A frown formed on his face.
"Alpha Allison tried to poison me. But Ember drank it." He clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Alpha Allison… how is that possible?" Theo pushed back his glasses. He was beyond stunned.
"No time for explanation. Go and get me the healer. Then summon all the elders…" he paused. "We should prepare for war." He burst the door open.
