CHAPTER 44
~Spring's POV~
His eyes narrowed slightly, the corners of his mouth twitching like he wanted to argue but didn't. I could still feel the pressure in his arms like he was holding himself back from doing something.
And something in me wanted to push past his restraint to see what he'd do. Provoke him and maybe, just maybe he'd shout or get mad.
Storm tutted instead. "You're trying my patience, mate."
His thumb brushed my jaw, trailing the line of my cheek with maddening gentleness before his gaze drifted down to my lips, slowly and deliberately.
The way he looked at them made my breath cease involuntarily, and I didn't move.
"I wanted to kiss you so bad right now," he whispered with a gentleness that left me speechless… again. "But I'll wait. Until you want it too."
My heart stuttered briefly. Storm could've kissed me, claimed the moment but he didn't and that—more than anything—shook something loose in me.
