Chapter 19 - The First Rewoven

The temple walls dimmed as Meyric raised his hand. Threads of ash curled through the air like smoke, weaving a vision above the broken loom.

> "Before the Loom controlled fate…

Before Seers learned to read threads…

There was one who dared to weave his own."

---

✦ A Name the World Forgot

The vision showed a young man, wrapped in simple robes, his hair like starlight, his eyes full of grief.

> "His name was Kael."

Kael was not born of noble blood, nor chosen by the Loom.

He was… in love.

And the woman he loved, Elira, was fated to die.

But Kael — instead of accepting fate — refused.

---

✦ Breaking the Loom

> "He found this place," Meyric said, gesturing around the temple.

"And here, he learned the language of Threads not meant for mortals."

Kael cut his own fate, severed Elira's death-thread, and rewove it.

She lived.

But the world shifted.

Time fractured.

Cities vanished.

Storms came from futures that no longer existed.

> "To save one life, he condemned thousands," Meyric whispered.

And Elira? She saw what Kael had done — and chose to die anyway, walking into the broken loom and vanishing.

---

✦ The Price of Reweaving

Kael went mad.

He began cutting other people's threads — fixing their lives as he saw fit.

He thought he was helping.

But in truth, he was creating a web of chaos, a world without natural fate.

Eventually, the Seers — terrified of what he'd become — joined forces with the Threadless to stop him.

> "It took all of us," Meyric said. "Even those who had once followed him."

Kael was unmade.

Not killed — unwritten.

His name erased.

His legacy buried.

His power… sealed.

Until now.

---

✦ Aiden's Fear

Aiden stepped back, shaken. "Why show me this?"

"Because," Meyric said, "you carry the same spark.

You can reweave like Kael did — but with less control.

And the Loom is already shifting again."

Aiden clenched his fists. "Then I'll learn to control it."

"Will you?" Meyric asked, stepping into the shadows. "Or will you try to fix something you shouldn't — and become the second storm?"

---

✦ The Echo Awakens

As Aiden stared at the cracked loom, the threads began to whisper.

One glowing thread floated forward — touched his chest — and sank inside.

It was Kael's.

And with it came a memory:

The sound of the world breaking.

The scream of someone you love vanishing.

And the unbearable power of being able to undo it — if only you dared.
