Chapter 35 - Trap Master

I stood within my pocket dimension shirtless. I had torn pieces of my clothes, wrapping them around my injuries which were around my chest region to cover the talon injury on my back and around my right shoulder.

Thankfully, none of these injuries were fatal, nor did they bleed heavily. However, it seemed if I didn't have them properly treated, I would eventually die from bleeding.

[Health Points:] 60/90

[Status:] Bleeding [-1 HP every 2 mins]

[Energy Points:] 19/20

Glancing at my stats, I couldn't help but frown at my condition. I had only two hours to get my wounds treated or I would die.

That meant I couldn't stay here anymore. However, the problem was that my gates could only open at points they were initially opened or a place marked with my [Doorpost] technique.

Snap!

With a snap of my fingers, the door flipped open, revealing the skies above—still nearly ten thousand feet above the ground.

The strong wind blew into my pocket dimension, making my hair whip violently against the wind. I glanced over my shoulder where what was left of my shirt lay on the blood-stained floor.

"Angel's talent would have been useful here," I muttered, feeling a tinge of regret, but I quickly shrugged it off.

If I didn't have the [Might of Man] talent, I would have been dead already.

With a heavy sigh, I flung my black jacket over my shoulder, wearing it to cover my wounds from prying eyes.

"You got this..." I muttered with my eyes shut before charging forward.

Thud!

My heavy footsteps rang across the pocket dimension as I jumped through the gate, shooting higher into the sky with my superhuman strength and closing the door below me.

Swoooosh!

My gaze darted around the wind, witnessing what I could only describe as a chaotic battle. Winged creatures soared through the sky, latching onto helicopters.

But our forces weren't completely helpless. Numerous Aether-powered helicopters unleashed a deadly barrage of bluish Aether bullets, while ascendants took it upon themselves to shoot down any winged beast in sight using the Aether-powered machine guns mounted on their helicopters.

Blue beams filled the sky, knocking down every winged beast caught in sight. It was a chaotic scene filled with the cries of beast, man, and machine alike.

CAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!

My gaze narrowed, focusing on a winged beast in the distance, flying in my direction. Its rider was a bald green orc with protruding tusks, bare-chested and armed with a bow and arrow.

Swoosh!

I began descending, my grip tightening on Rai'ki and watched as the winged beast approached rapidly—its murderous gaze locked on my descending figure.

"Kã jæk Ûmàî!" The orc screamed unintelligible words as he pointed in my direction, and his mount let out a furious cry.

In mere seconds, it had covered the distance between us, spreading its wings wide and sticking its deadly talons forward with murderous intent in its eyes. But I never planned on going down easily.

"DOOR!" I yelled at the top of my lungs as a ghastly white fog erupted from my body, converging to form a massive white gate behind me.

I fell in, and the orc dragged the reins of his mount, causing it to let out a cry—but it was too late.

Bam!

I landed on my feet and quickly dove to the left, narrowly evading being squashed by the winged beast as it slammed into the padded ground with immense force.

Snap!

With a snap of my fingers, the gate closed shut with a loud thud and vanished. Almost immediately, the orc looked in that direction, his eyes narrowing before he turned his attention to me.

"Læñ ßīa!" he yelled.

'Is he cursing?' I couldn't help but wonder while rising to my feet.

Just like the orc, his beast was anxious, constantly glancing around with an uncomfortable look in its eyes. The white room seemed to scare the beast.

But none of this mattered because the battle was over.

"I win," I said while flexing my shoulders.

My actions seemed to agitate the orc as he quickly pulled out an arrow from his quiver and nocked his bow, before firing—all in a few seconds. But I was no bitch either.

Peng!

With one swing of Rai'ki, I parried the arrow, causing it to fall to the ground while leaving a beautiful blue trail that faded away a second later.

My strength and agility were at 8 points, just two steps away from the peak capabilities of a human. While I doubted I could compete with this orc in terms of strength and speed, I wasn't completely helpless.

The orc's frown deepened upon seeing how effortlessly I dealt with his attack.

"KÄÄÄR!" he roared, tightening the grip on his mount's reins.

CAAAAAWWWWWWWWW!

The beast roared and charged forward with malicious intent, but its reckless action was met with a sinister smile as my eyes turned pitch black.

"Checkmate," I chuckled in a deep, cold voice.

Ding!

[GATEWAY TO NIGHTFALL DOMINION ACTIVATED!]

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

A familiar haunted cry echoed within the room as space twisted and warped while a ghastly black presence converged before me. Black ghostly beings formed, bound with chains that tied them to the twisting space.

CAAWWWWWW!

The beast was terrified and attempted to retreat.

"Too late!" I answered.

As the ghastly figures lunged forward, grabbing the beast by its limbs—pulling it toward the slowly forming gateway.

The orc and his mount kicked and thrashed violently, trying to break free, but their attempt was futile.

"In this world, I am king." I said in an oddly deep voice. "And in the next world I plan to send you to, I am God."

Buzz!

Blood began flowing out from the edges of the rift, dripping to the ground. The orc and his mount struggled for a few more seconds before getting dragged into my territory.

Ding!

[INTRUDERS ALERT!]

[AN ORC WRANGLER AND A SKARNAK HAS INFILTRATED YOUR TERRITORY. DEAL WITH THEM!]

A cruel smile bloomed on my face upon seeing the system notification.

"With pleasure," I grinned devilishly.
