Chapter 1 - C1

C1

Games are meant for entertainment—a way to escape, to step away from the daily grind and enter a fictional world where you can be anyone and do anything.

As someone drained by the monotony of work, I found solace in games. The perks, the worlds, the power fantasies—they all made life a little more bearable.

Money? What's the point of earning it if you never enjoy it?

Some say it's better to save, to plan for a house, a family, a future. But that dream isn't for everyone.

As for me, I'm content with the small comforts of my modest apartment. It's enough.I lived for games, and I'd die with them. No regrets. Just satisfaction.

And then—I did.

One second, I was admiring the sunset in-game, the next… darkness. No pain. No warning. Just gone. My body slumped in a chair, monitor still glowing with the game I loved.

Normally, in stories like this, I'd lose all memory of my past life and be reincarnated clean, ready to make new choices, maybe better ones. But that's not what happened.

I woke up in a world that should've been fictional, in a body I didn't recognize, during a timeline I didn't understand. And as if that wasn't bizarre enough, the game I had been playing? It came with me.

Absurd, right? I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

So let's do a little profiling:

My name—rather, my new name—is Kiyu Gunto. I'm an orphan, surprisingly. No records or memories of father, mother, or siblings.

But here's the kicker: I'm in Konoha.

How do I know? The three faces carved into the Hokage Monument gave it away.

Three. Not four. Which means the Fourth Hokage hasn't taken office yet. That places me somewhere between the Second and Third Shinobi Wars.

A dangerous time.

Normally, I'd be thrilled. I grew up on Naruto. Kids my age learned hand signs before cursive. We wore cosplay more often than uniforms.

Naruto was everyone's childhood.

But this? This isn't the cheerful, plot-armored Konoha from the anime. This is the bloodiest era of its history.

And unless you're a prodigy, born with a kekkei genkai, or blessed with plot armor, you're cannon fodder. Disposable.

I should be scared out of my mind. War is coming, and when it does, every able-bodied person will be sent to the front lines.

I would be terrified—if not for the system I awakened.

[The One Piece System]

At first, I thought I was hallucinating.Reincarnated into Konoha's worst timeline and gifted a system?

But then I remembered all those isekai novels. This kind of thing is par for the course.

And when I opened the system interface, my brain nearly short-circuited.

Because it wasn't just any system—it was a perfect copy of my old game. The One Piece RPG I used to play obsessively.

So, a little recap:

The game lets you build a custom character and take on any role in the One Piece world—pirate, marine, bounty hunter, revolutionary, swordsman, even a Celestial Dragon.

And Me? I lived in that game.

Every free moment I had was spent playing—grinding levels, collecting gear, testing builds.I even spent real money on it. Not because I needed to win, but because I loved it.It was my escape.

By the time I died, I had five fully maxed-out characters, each with a different path, different powers.

And now, that entire save file? It's here.

In my head. In this world.

Every Devil Fruit I collected. Every Supreme Grade blade. Every form of Haki. Even the Ancient Weapons.

I have access to all of it.

[Kiyu Gunto: Civilian]

[Equipped: None]

[Body: 1]

[Haki: 0]

"This is… almost exactly like the interface from the game I used to play," I muttered under my breath, eyes scanning the floating text in front of me. It wasn't just familiar—it was identical. Same layout, same categories, even the same slightly pixelated font.

"If I go by game standards, then I'd have to level up my Body and Haki first."

Fortunately, I wasn't just any random player. I had been a top-ranked user back in the game world—an owner of a boosted account, complete with rare items and optimized builds. And now, somehow, all of that had carried over into this new life.

With a mental command, I pulled up my inventory. Instantly, shimmering icons arranged themselves into neat rows in midair, like a holographic library of knowledge.

Most of the items were skill books—digital grimoires that could teach and enhance specific abilities. The idea was simple: read the book, learn the skill, and train to improve it further.

My eyes quickly landed on the section labeled [Body Training Manuals].

If I wanted to survive here—no, thrive here—then I'd need a solid foundation.Strength, speed, endurance… everything began with the body. And if the laws of this world mirrored the game's mechanics, I couldn't afford to slack.

I selected the strongest one available.

[Haki: 0]

The moment I activated it, the book burst into light, releasing a flood of information straight into my brain.

Diagrams, postures, breathing techniques, and movement patterns flashed across my mind's eye.

Then, just as abruptly, the light faded, and a series of objective prompts appeared before me like an RPG quest list.

Training Tasks:

Perform 100 push-ups without rest.

Run 10 kilometers under 30 minutes.

Practice Soru footwork for 30 minutes.

Execute 50 correct stances of Tekkai.

Meditate for an hour to regulate energy flow.

My jaw clenched.

This wasn't like in the game, where I could just click "complete" and be done with it.No, here, I had to earn it.

The system would only reward me if I physically completed these tasks, and did them right.Sloppy form or half-hearted effort would net me nothing.

"Like they say: No pain, no gain," I whispered to myself, standing tall.

My muscles were still average, untrained, but I could already feel a subtle pressure in the air, as if the world itself was urging me to push forward.

I didn't know why I was reincarnated here, or how I ended up with this interface—this strange hybrid of fantasy and game mechanics—but I wasn't going to waste time questioning it. Not now.

This world… it pulsed with energy, mystery, and danger. A world of anime physics, divine beings, and monstrous foes.

And if I wanted to stand at the top, I needed more than luck—I needed power.
