Chapter 55 - Chapter 55

Kurohane felt a headache coming on as he looked at the books before him, as a brute, he absolutely hated studying. Since its inception, Kamar-Taj had produced countless powerful sorcerers. And the greatest achievement of these sorcerers was recording their lifelong research results. Some were mature, some still nascent, some succeeded, and of course, some failed. Coupled with the magical books the Ancient One, the Mage, had collected over the years, they formed this massive library.

But the source of all these magical scriptures originated from the Book of Vishanti. This book was essentially an encyclopedia of white magic, covering defense, offense, healing, time manipulation, dimensional sealing, and much more. You could find answers to almost any spell in the field of white magic within it. Furthermore, the content recorded within automatically updated based on the wishes of Vishanti, and could even generate new spells for specific threats! Which meant, this book would never be finished! And the book the Ancient One, the Mage, told Kurohane to read now was the Book of Vishanti, which he could never finish!

There were differences in human physique, just as there were specializations in certain subjects when studying. Kurohane was a highly specialized individual, the first time he came into contact with the Book of Vishanti, countless pieces of knowledge were drilled into his mind, even automatically opening the door to the Holy Dimension, leaving a cross-shaped mark on Kurohane's left hand, deeply binding him to the Holy Dimension! The Ancient One, the Mage, was right beside Kurohane at that moment but didn't intervene to stop him. She merely cast a simple concealment spell, hiding the powerful Holy Dimension aura on Kurohane!

However, Kurohane only felt his soul had been cleansed, and his mind was filled with thoughts of upholding justice. If the Ancient One, the Mage, hadn't stopped him, he would have opened a portal and given Odin a fine ticket!

However, the Ancient One, the Mage, told Kurohane that this was both a good and bad thing. The good thing was that the mark on Kurohane's hand was called the Holy Scar. In some parallel worlds, this kind of thing was an ability granted by Angels, symbolizing the grace and affirmation of Angels, able to act according to the Angels' will! Moreover, a person with a Holy Scar would never be involved with the Dark Dimension in this life, and couldn't use any magic other than white magic!

Good news: Kurohane didn't need to learn any magic other than white magic from now on, as he couldn't learn it. Bad news: There was too much white magic, it would never end!

"Teacher, how much longer do I have to stay in Kamar-Taj?" Kurohane was truly bored. Reading couldn't improve his intelligence, but it would actually consume his life! He could only lie on the ground pretending to be a salted fish, hoping the Ancient One, the Mage, would let him out of the library. He had been locked up for half a month, Thor had returned to Asgard, destroying the Rainbow Bridge, and cutting off communication between realms! In a few more days, Captain America would be dug out of the Arctic, and the Avengers series would soon begin. Yet, he was still reading in the library, unable to do anything!

The Ancient One, the Mage, looked at Kurohane before her with a smile, feeling that she truly hadn't chosen the wrong disciple. A little man with a natural affinity for the Holy Dimension, chosen by Vishanti and personally bestowed with the Holy Scar. But unfortunately, he could never be the best Sorcerer Supreme. However, this didn't affect her intention to shirk responsibility and leave, having decided to let Kurohane be the scapegoat!

"Have you finally figured it out?"

"Figured out what?"

"Becoming the Sorcerer Supreme!"

"Not doing it!" Kurohane replied quickly.

"Then keep reading. I'll let you go after you finish reading the Book of Vishanti."

Kurohane was stunned. "What's the difference between this and how you treated me before? Do I have to wait until the chicken finishes pecking the rice, the dog finishes licking the noodles, and the oil lamp burns through the iron lock before I can get out?"

"Teacher, I'm not a suitable candidate to be the Sorcerer Supreme. Is there a Sorcerer Supreme who only masters white magic?" Kurohane decided to struggle even harder. Compared to Doctor Strange, his talent was still far inferior. At least he could swim in the ocean of knowledge, even leaving his body to learn while sleeping. He was different, as soon as he started learning, his soul would leave his body! How could that be the same?!

"If you don't become the Sorcerer Supreme, how can I die peacefully? If I don't die, how can I get rid of this dark energy from me? If I don't get rid of this dark energy, you'll point at my nose and scold me three times a day. Who can endure that?" The Ancient One, the Mage, held a teacup and slowly sipped it. Previously, Kurohane had secretly escaped three times, and was still caught and brought back by her. After being caught back for the third time, Kurohane went crazy, pointing at the Ancient One, the Mage's nose and cursing, saying that stealing other people's energy was wrong. Even if that person was the Dimension Lord of the Dark Dimension, it was still wrong, even if it was just doing business! The Ancient One, the Mage, said nothing, just kept hitting him!

Three days later, Kurohane declared that Dormammu, the Lord of the Dark Dimension, had malicious intentions and was looking for death! The Sorcerer Supreme Ancient One, the Mage who 'took' his energy, showed him respect. If he had time in the future, he would write a biography for the Ancient One, the Mage, and the first chapter would be called "The Sorcerer Supreme Cleverly Takes Birthday Presents!"

"You're going to die? You can lie to me about this, don't lie to yourself." Kurohane closed the Book of Vishanti in front of him and said exasperatedly, "Even if your body loses vitality, your soul will most likely live forever, right? After all, I came from another world. As for you falling from the roof and dying..."

"Are you sure you want to slander me?" The Ancient One, the Mage, gently set down her teacup, and the hem of her robe shifted slightly. Kurohane's body shivered involuntarily, feeling a dull ache in his tailbone. He made a lightning-quick mouth-moving gesture, indicating he wouldn't speak anymore.

Kurohane complained. The lineage of the Sorcerer Supreme truly had an inherent trait of laziness. The current Ancient One, the Mage, wanted to hand over the job to him, and the future Stephen Strange saw the winning outcome, chose to hand over the Time Stone, able to fight the final battle without doing anything. And conveniently, shirked his own responsibility, letting the librarian Wong become the new Sorcerer Supreme. They were all cunning old foxes!

"Huh!?" Kurohane suddenly had an idea. "I can also be this Sorcerer Supreme! Doesn't the Ancient One, the Mage, just want to be lazy! Just accept it now, then just throw it to Stephen Strange later!"

"Whatever! I'll be this Sorcerer Supreme!" Kurohane had decided at this moment to shoulder this responsibility. As long as the Ancient One, the Mage, was gone, he could do whatever he wanted then. He didn't believe a dead person could do anything to him!

"Alright, here's the Eye of Agamotto." "I'm going to die soon."

The Ancient One, the Mage, took off the Eye of Agamotto from her neck and hung it on Kurohane's neck. After that, she fell to the ground with a sharp 'crack', then died tragically.

Kurohane was stunned. "Alright, alright, you're playing it like this, huh?!"
