Chapter 58 - DULK: Chapter 58

Liliruca followed Arthas, wondering if she'd encountered a madman.

Unlike other adventurers, who entered the Dungeon armed and vigilant, Arthas showed no such caution.

Despite the large sword on his back, he showed no intention of using it. He seemed to be sightseeing or patrolling his backyard.

Before Liliruca could speak, Arthas whisked her down to the fifth floor.

"Um… Mr. Arthas, shouldn't we go slower?"

Even on the fifth floor, Arthas didn't slow down. Liliruca lagged behind, nervously watching for monsters.

Seeing Arthas distance himself, Liliruca shouted,

"Just follow me. Don't worry."

Arthas sounded impatient. He'd hoped a support member would help him encounter monsters, but it was the same as before.

"I know…"

Liliruca hurried to catch up, wondering if Arthas was Level 2, explaining his calmness.

If he was Level 2, she'd be careful; it wouldn't be a game.

She played tricks on Level 1 adventurers, but not Level 2s.

They reached the ninth floor. The eerie silence made Liliruca increasingly uneasy.

"Um… Mr. Arthas, are you Level 2?"

Gathering her courage, Liliruca looked at him hopefully.

"I'm Level 1."

Arthas said calmly, making Liliruca's eyes twitch.

Level 1? You went down nine floors without incident? Are you brave, or lucky? Weren't you afraid of monsters?!

Why weren't there any monsters…? Today's Dungeon is strange!

Liliruca thought, confused. Arthas stopped.

"Let's stop here. Going further is pointless."

You want to go to the thirteenth floor, with Level 2 monsters?!

As Liliruca looked speechless, Arthas sat against a pillar.

"We're lucky; no monsters. Unbelievable."

Liliruca tried to break the awkward silence.

"No… it's not luck."

Arthas shook his head.

"Then… why?"

Liliruca tilted her head curiously.

"The Dungeon and the monsters are alive, sentient… they're afraid."

"Afraid?"

"Yes, they're afraid, so they don't appear."

"Oh…"

Liliruca didn't know what to say; she looked at Arthas strangely.

You're going to say they're afraid of you, aren't you? I've met many adventurers, but never one so narcissistic.

A support member didn't work? I'll tell Hestia; maybe she has a solution.

"Let's go back."

After resting, Arthas stood, ready to return.

No monsters meant no magic stones, no loss for him.

Liliruca followed, thinking this.

Support members usually received a percentage of the magic stones. This was usually agreed upon beforehand.

Normally, it's fifty-fifty, but Liliruca was lucky to get anything; often, she got nothing.

Because of this, Liliruca disliked adventurers and focused on other things.

Like…

From the beginning, Liliruca's gaze hadn't left the large sword on Arthas's back; she finally found an opening.

"Mr. Arthas's weapon is cool."

"This?"

Arthas glanced at his sword.

"It's a powerful sword. You must be a great swordsman. It's a shame I haven't seen you fight."

"Swordsman? I'm a mage."

Arthas's cold reply left Liliruca speechless.

"A… mage?"

A mage using such an impractical weapon?

Longswords aren't for mages. A mage carrying a longsword to the Dungeon is even stranger.

He's not joking; he's a madman.

Liliruca thought, convinced Arthas was insane.

"Why not a staff? Why this… longsword?"

"Unnecessary… even the best staffs are too fragile and limit me."

Arthas said this; Liliruca rolled her eyes.

What… there he goes again. This guy is so annoying.
