Midori ran to the female restroom. She looked at the mirror, and a sudden sense of fear shot through her nerves like the chill of an icy wind at the image she beheld.

Her face looked terrifying. Her eyes had a glow of blood, and her pupils looked as if they would fall off the sockets. There were visible, ugly dark veins on her face, and then an eye on her forehead. Her face looked disgusting. Her teeth were no exception; she had sharp fangs and were very dirty.

She turned on the faucet and washed her face profusely with water. But her face still bore the same image. She was panting, her breath shaky. A thousand unutterable fears bore irresistible despotism over her thoughts.

She looked at her fingers, which were now claws. She felt like she was a wild animal, or probably a demon!

She cried. Midori had the cry of her life. Her tears were like an ocean with strong waves. She hated what she had seen of herself and who she had become without realizing it until now.

Was she going to accept who she had become? Would she go back to her former self? Or was she going to live on the flesh of humans?

This also applied to her friends because it took all the discipline in the world to prevent her from eating her friends and the bullies at the rooftop.

For how long would she continue to have such discipline? For how long? She craved human flesh more than anything!

Back at the rooftop, while Taku was falling, painful thoughts flooded through his mind. He was going to die and leave his beloved twin. He remembered the times they had shared conversations and laughter, the bond they shared.

What about his little sisters? They were literally his joy. Who was going to read bedtime stories for them? His parents would grieve over their dead son.

He wasn't of so much benefit to them, but he knew they would cry at his death. He imagined his family in black clothes, crying at the cemetery where they were burying him. He sure didn't want to die, but it seemed like he would. And all his thoughts ran into tears, like rain into a dark cloud.

A cold wind blew against his face. A gusty breeze blew his hair and froze him. Although the wind was a bit harsh, it didn't restrain the fierce sun from pouring its fury, which burned like a roaring wildfire as he swayed under the sudden grip of the sun's anger.

The sun blazed torridly. It must have been furious at him with the way it came out in such full force, he concluded, but for what reason? Maybe nature hated him as Kenji did.

He could hear the chatter and clatter of students and the teachings of teachers, but the thoughts he was having, which pierced him like a blade, drained all of that and made it vanish like vapor in the sun.

He was ready to go to the afterlife if that was nature's plan for him, but if only he could wish his family a proper farewell.

The moment he was about to touch the ground, someone caught him. A girl. But she was wearing a big black hood that covered her face.

She carried Taku to a spot at the back of the school that students hardly go to. It was an abandoned part of the school where some wayward kids sometimes went to smoke cigarettes.

She laid him gently on the ground. She brought her two palms a little bit close, then curved them like ball shapes. All of a sudden, a pink sacred light, round in the form of an energy ball, appeared in her hand.

The pink light had beautiful, tiny butterfly sparkles in it. She faced it toward the places Taku was brutally injured, and they started healing. His cracked and broken bones returned to their normal state. The deep cuts and bruises healed and seemed like they were never there.

She stopped after seeing that Taku was all healed and healthy. She walked away looking very weak. The healing of Taku had drained her mightily. Her body almost couldn't stand it, but she still managed to walk away.

Taku couldn't open his eyes. They were shut throughout the healing process. It was like a force prevented him from opening his eyes. He felt a warm sensation and knew he was feeling better, and someone was there, but he couldn't fathom what was going on.

He only recognized the sound of the girl's footsteps, but before he could open his eyes, she was gone.

He was flabbergasted to see that he was all healed. He thought he was going to die. Who saved him? How could someone literally heal him so that he didn't feel even an iota of pain or see any cut or even feel his broken body?

He was perfectly healed! What sort of miracle was that? Was he dreaming? He slapped his right cheek twice. He then realized he wasn't at all dreaming or imagining.

It was real!

It was bloody real!

As Kenji and Isao were leaving the school, students gathered, astonished at the blood that covered them like children who had played in the mud. Without anyone telling them, they knew it was Taku's blood.

There were murmurs and pandemonium among the students.

"Oh! He killed him!" The first student interjected.

"Poor Taku. He couldn't defend himself!" The second student exclaimed sadly.

"Why would Kenji and Isao kill him in cold blood?" wondered out loud the third student.

"And where is Tani? Did he leave the bully clique?" asked the fourth student.

"What's going on in this school? Why would a student kill his own fellow student? Over what?" The first student wondered out loud.

And many more. They all talked at once, not giving room for the other person to talk and then listen.

Sota rushed to Kenji, holding his collar. His hands were stained with Taku's blood.

"What did you do to him! What have you done! You killed him!" He cried out loud.

"Take your filthy hands off my collar, you bastard!" Kenji screamed furiously at him.

"You will rot in jail for killing Taku." He tried to punch Kenji, but Kenji held his hand before the blow could touch him.

"The next time you raise your fucked-up hand to hit me, will be the last day you make use of that hand," he pushed Sota, and he fell. "Dammit! Fool!" He left with Isao.

Sota remained on the floor crying.

Jin just stood among the crowd. He had been speechless and unable to act. The way everything had been playing out made him freeze.

He felt his hand go numb. His leg was still pinned to the ground. His mouth was slightly opened, but no words came out. His mouth didn't even move.

Only tears flowed out from his eyes uncontrollably. He didn't sob. He didn't make any sound. But the tears just continued flowing. The tears were also flowing into his mouth. He tasted the saltiness of his own tears.

Immediately Kenji and Isao were out of sight, Taku appeared from nowhere. He was looking all really healthy, except for the bloodstains on his uniform. There were no bruises or cuts on his face or any part of his body. They all looked clean.

The students screamed in surprise.

"Ghost!" They screamed in fear. They hid behind each other for fear of being harmed by the "ghost."

Jin was more shocked. His tears froze. He was there when Kenji beat the hell out of him. He saw the brutal and inhuman beating given to him by Kenji. He saw Kenji drop him off the rooftop. He was sure that it was Taku's ghost.

Probably he had come for revenge. If he had come for revenge, he would also kill him because he did nothing while he was being killed.

He stood unable to move instead of helping him. He wanted to, he truly did want to, but his body couldn't move no matter how much he tried. Now the ghost of his close friend would hunt and kill him. He was ready to atone for it.

Whatever came out of it, he was ready. He was ready to pay for his inaction when he was supposed to take action. It wasn't his fault, but no one would believe him, he thought in his head.

Sota rushed to Taku and embraced him tightly. Everyone screamed; the scream was intensified. Some even closed their eyes.

They were flabbergasted. Taku didn't disappear or harm Sota as ghosts usually did. Taku held Sota's hand. He went to where Jin was. He held Jin's hand also with his other hand. That was when Jin's body became unfrozen. Everything he felt melted away. Taku held them like that and walked past.

The students found themselves applauding and smiling. They admired what they had watched, like an anime movie.
