Chapter 3 - Connected

For Lina, the whole situation was new, as she was neither ill nor did she feel that way.

She simply didn't know what was wrong with her. She imagined that I, a coma patient, was actually conscious.

She couldn't comprehend such a thing. Her colleagues didn't believe her either.

Completely confused, she helped the older woman, her supervisor, in room three with a patient who was suffering from severe pain due to his illness.

"Lina? Are you okay?" her supervisor Silke snapped her out of her trance.

"Yes," she nodded, although she was visibly confused.

They left my room, and Silke asked again if she was sure she was alright.

Once more, Lina emphasized that she was in perfect health.

The patient's pulse in room three was elevated.

"Give him 0.5 grams of morphine," said the patient's doctor.

The patient screamed loudly in pain, as he had never experienced anything like it before.

Silke sent Lina to fetch the medication and disappeared through the door.

Lina hurried; the medication was right behind the counter. As Lina entered her password, she suddenly felt dizzy and nauseous.

She didn't know what had happened, but she felt sick.

She leaned forward against the box as she waited for the morphine.

She heard a bang and took the medication. She quickly ran back to room three, where Silke already had everything prepared.

She took the vial and drew it into the syringe.

"Mr. Gomez, you'll feel a little prick," Silke said, handing over the syringe.

Then the patient calmed down and lay back again.

"I don't feel well," Lina told Silke as they walked back to the counter.

"Hopefully not because of the coma patient," her supervisor hinted.

"No, no, not that," Lina no longer knew what to believe. "I just need some rest to relax."

Instead of tending to more patients, Silke handed Lina the files. She was to enter them into the system.

"Hopefully you'll feel better soon," Silke wished her colleague Lina.

Lina sat down at the table and started the system.

The application field opened. The round yellow circles spun.

Lina stared at them and kept staring. Nothing happened until suddenly it turned on.

She blinked several times as she began to type in the entries.

I was in the room across from her. I knew I was connected to Lina in some way; now the question was how I could deepen my control over Lina.

How could I gain control over Lina's body?

I thought about it for a long time, considering my knowledge of the events that happened during the previous takeovers.

Both times I was able to speak to her when she fell into a trance. The first time was when I rattled the stable door, but then an idea came to me.

What if I rattled the door again and maintained eye contact with Lina?

This might even be easier now, as I was sure I could control her. And if that didn't work, I'd have to come up with something else.

Lina spent the whole morning entering the data. The system was old, and it always took some time for the data to be saved.

So Lina had to type in part of the data, then wait, then enter more, and so on. It was exhausting to work like that, but it was part of her job.

"Are you feeling better?" Stefanie, who was sitting next to her, asked.

"No, I've got a splitting headache from all this work!" she smiled at Stefanie.

"And with this system," Lina complained.

"Totally understandable," Stefanie replied with a smile.

"But I'm almost done!" Lina emphasized that they could go on break soon.

"Then we can go on break," Stefanie said, sounding motivated.

At the lunch table, Stefanie stirred her lunch with her spoon.

"Do you still think the patient in room ten is conscious?"

"I probably just imagined it. He's in a coma, and as you and I learned, you can't be conscious in a coma," Lina tried to explain.

"Finally, you see it that way too!" Stefanie replied as they returned after lunch.

In the late afternoon, Lina appeared in my room again, holding a saline solution in her hands.

She closed the door behind her as she approached me. The fear she had felt the day before was hardly visible anymore.

"Finish your work, Lina, and then move on. Then you're done for today," she said out loud to herself.

She truly thought I was in a coma, convinced by her colleagues and subconsciously by me as well.

Lina replaced the saline solution, plugged it in again, as I rattled the stable door once more.

My brain frequencies rose and fell in succession. The machines beeped repeatedly, catching Lina's attention.

Once again, she fell into a trance as she looked at me.

My monitors showed Lina's perspective, but I wanted more.

I wanted to leave my body, to breathe and eat again. I wanted to be free again.

I let Lina stare into my eyes again. I looked from her perspective, but nothing happened.

I kept rattling the door, but still nothing. Then I thought further.

What if it was more than just psychological? What if there was a physical barrier?

"Lina, kiss me on my lips!" I commanded, as nothing and no one could disturb me now.

Lina approached me emotionlessly, opened her mouth, and suddenly I felt soft lips on mine.

Lina's lips, kissing me, and I heard the chain on the stable break.

I could open the door as a bright white light shone on me. I didn't refuse to go toward it.

I dared to leave my body for a moment, to let everything happen for just a moment, and took a step into the unknown.

Suddenly, I opened my eyes and saw my own eyes slowly closing. I felt a multitude of different sensations.

I felt the long hair that Lina had tied up against my spine.

I also felt the cold in my arms. Then I felt her chest, which rose differently. It was not just a shape, but also warmth, tension, and weight.

My hips were wider, my shoulders narrower. Slowly, I let go of the bed to find my balance.

At first, it was hard to keep my balance, but thanks to the sneakers the nurses wore, I managed well.

I unconsciously wobbled out of the room like Lina.

Like a sleepwalker, I looked back once more before heading to the counter.

"I'm leaving," I said to Silke and the rest of the team.

"Have a nice evening," Silke said casually before turning back to the files.

I started to walk slowly, but then wondered where the locker room was.

Memories flooded me as I realized where I needed to go.

So I could also access Lina's consciousness? Not bad.

I sneaked into the women's locker room, where I knew Lina's combination lock.

I opened the locker and changed.

While changing, I looked at myself in the mirror. I looked at her bras and panties, which made me very hot.

I couldn't help but touch myself. I was aroused that I now had breasts and a vagina.

I touched my breasts and inside my panties with Lina's delicate hands, feeling every nerve I excited.

"Please," I moaned in Lina's voice.
