Chapter 20: In Verdant City, who could make me have an accident?

Samir's heart skipped a beat, and his pupils constricted.

Nora Mills's expression changed as well.

"Chasel Mills, what do you mean? How could he possibly be connected to Samir?"

Nora was shocked and furious at the thought of Michelle Allen almost being bullied.

However, upon hearing Chasel Mills's words, her anger suddenly shifted toward him.

Chasel Mills glanced at Nora Mills, but this time, he chose not to respond."I don't like repeating myself!" Chasel Mills said again, his voice calm. "Explain yourself clearly, and I can make this quick for you!"

Though his tone was steady, Elliot Price felt an unprecedented sense of pressure emanating from him.

And there was a palpable aura of danger!

Chasel Mills hadn't even moved, yet beads of cold sweat began to form on Elliot's forehead.

He had never felt such intense fear from anyone before. Not even from Huxley or Billy, who were far less intimidating.

"This matter is..."

Elliot Price ultimately couldn't with stand Chasel Mills's overwhelming presence and began to stammer out his words.

No matter what, the first priority was to keep Chasel Mills under control. As of now, his two lackeys were still missing—he didn't know if they were dead or alive.

Chasel Mills was terrifying; just the thought of him made Elliot Price's heart race.

Just as Elliot was about to speak, a sudden rush of footsteps echoed through the spacious, luxurious private room.

In an instant, more than ten men in black burst in, each wielding a machete.

They had just noticed something was off on the surveillance footage.Seeing his men rush in, Elliot's words caught in his throat, but suddenly he felt emboldened.

He shouted to his lackeys, "What are you waiting for? Go chop him up! I'll reward each of you ten thousand!"

With that, Elliot quickly stepped back, creating distance between himself and Chasel Mills.

"I was hoping you could explain yourself and I'd give you a quick end, but it seems you've chosen the most brutal way to die!" Chasel Mills scoffed coldly.

In an instant, he moved.

To everyone's eyes, Chasel Mills seemed to transform into a bolt of lightning, weaving through the crowd. Before the black-clad lackeys could even swing their machetes at him, they were sent flying backward, their ribs shattered.

On the ground, there was a chorus of wails, and one man could no longer stand up.

"Shut up, you noisy fools!" Chasel Mills snorted coldly, lifting his right foot and gently placing it on one of the henchman's wrist.

With a light press, a sickening crunch echoed through the air, magnified a thousand times in everyone's ears.

The man's wrist was reduced to a bloody pulp.

"Ah..."

His scream shot up several decibels, becoming even more heart-wrenching.

However, in that moment of agony, he could no longer focus on the pain in his chest and right hand. He quickly covered his mouth with his remaining left hand, forcing his cries to be stifled in his throat.

The excruciating pain made his face flush red, veins bulging, as he felt like he was on the brink of death.

With this example set, the other fallen black-clad men fell silent, even though their faces were pale and cold sweat streamed down their foreheads. They dared not make a sound, fearing they would provoke this devil-like killer again.

In an instant, the entire private room was engulfed in a deathly silence.

Samir's pupils constricted, his expression one of sheer horror, as he trembled uncontrollably.

How could Chasel Mills be this skilled?

Not only that, but he was also this ruthless!!!

What if Chasel Mills found out that it was he who had orchestrated the humiliation of Michelle Allen...? Samir suddenly felt a chill run down his spine at the thought of his own fate.

At that moment, it finally dawned on him that Chasel Mills was a notorious criminal who had served time in prison!

Nora Mills, on the other hand, covered her mouth tightly with her delicate white hand, her wide eyes revealing the intense turmoil within her.

Chasel Mills shifted his gaze back to Elliot Price.

His expression was a mix of amusement and menace, sending chills down everyone's spine."B-Brother, no, I mean, sir, I swear, today's events were all Samir's idea!" Elliot stammered, nearly losing his mind from fear. He quickly pointed at Samir. "He was the one who fed me the information and pushed me into this!"

"That's impossible! Samir has been with me the whole time. How could he have encouraged you?" Nora shot back, her eyes narrowing in disbelief, feeling that Elliot was just trying to shift the blame.

"Yeah, don't just throw accusations around!" Samir added angrily.

Chasel Mills was too powerful and brutal; Samir didn't dare to take the blame."Very well!" Chasel Mills said, still smiling at Elliot Price, though the smile didn't reach his eyes. "But it's too late!"

As he spoke, Chasel Mills began to walk toward Elliot. His modified black military boots, which looked like ordinary work boots, thudded against the floor.

Step by step.

The sound of rapid tapping echoed in the quiet private room, like a death knell.

Each sound felt like a heavy hammer striking Elliot Price's chest.

"What... what do you want?" Elliot stammered, backing away as he looked at Chasel Mills, as if facing a great terror.

Eventually, he found himself with nowhere to retreat and fell back onto the sofa.

"Do you know who I am? I'm Huxley's right-hand man! If you dare to touch me, you're going against Huxley!" Elliot blurted out, trying to sound brave. It was as if he feared Chasel Mills didn't know who Huxley was, so he quickly added, "Huxley has taken Billy's position now."

Upon hearing this, Chasel Mills showed no change in expression.

But Nora Mills's face turned pale.

She didn't know who Huxley was, but she knew who Billy was—one of the notorious figures in Verdant City's underworld.

"At least Michelle Allen is okay, Chasel Mills. Why don't we just let this go?" Nora said softly, her voice laced with concern. "You can't afford to mess with Huxley."

No matter how tough Chasel Mills was, if Huxley had taken Billy's place, it meant he was not someone Chasel could easily confront.

"Nora, if today it were you in Michelle Allen's place, would you want me to just let it go?" Chasel Mills replied calmly, without looking at her.

Nora Mills clenched her teeth, memories flooding back of when she was bullied by other boys as a child. Chasel Mills had rushed to her aid without a second thought, even if it meant getting beaten up himself.

"If something happens to you, Dad will be really upset," she finally said through gritted teeth.

Beside her, Samir's expression grew increasingly grim.

Was it really about how upset her dad would be, or was it about how she felt?

"Who in Verdant City could possibly harm me?" Chasel Mills scoffed.

"Do you really think that in today's world, just being tough is enough to keep everything in check?" Nora yelled back, feeling like all her good intentions were wasted on someone who didn't appreciate them. Chasel Mills was being incredibly foolish.

Billy, one of the notorious figures in Verdant City, had connections in both the underworld and legitimate businesses. He was tough, had a lot of followers, and just today, he had been reported dead after an accidental fall from a building.

Nora wasn't naive. It was hard to believe someone like Billy Bruno would just accidentally fall to his death.

"Nora, since he won't listen, let's just go," Samir said, tugging at her sleeve quietly.

He wanted to get out of there quickly. He was afraid that Chasel Mills might turn his anger toward him. Samir wasn't a fighter; if he had to deal with Chasel, he would resort to other, more underhanded methods.

However, Chasel Mills lifted his gaze and coldly stared at him. "Did I give you permission to leave?"

His voice was icy!.
