Elena's POV
I turned to the window, watching the city stretch out beneath me. Everything looked normal from up here. Quiet. Controlled.
But I knew better.
My phone buzzed again—an internal message from security.
Subject: Suspicious activity in basement parking – Camera 3 temporarily disabled for six minutes this morning.
Six minutes was enough time for anything.
I stood, heart kicking into gear.
I called security. "Who accessed the basement during that window?"
A pause. Then: "Only one badge scanned in. A staff ID belonging to a temp—assigned just last week. We're still verifying details."
"Pull up everything you have on that person. Now."
I hung up and walked to the boardroom, where Callum was already pacing.
"They were here," I said sharply. "Or someone working for them."
His jaw clenched. "They're testing the waters."
I nodded. "Then let's make it clear—we're not drowning."
