Chapter 71 - Chapter 70: He Has Returned

Chapter 70: He Has Returned

A heavy silence followed the boy's words, a suffocating stillness, as if the whole world had held its breath.

Stefan's lips moved soundlessly, his mind desperately trying to find logic in the impossible. He whispered with a trembling voice:

"This... this isn't possible."

Caroline clung to his arm, her eyes wide with a mix of shock and confused tears.

"That voice... that smile... Stefan, it's him. It's Alexander."

Damon's heart raced—not out of fear or confusion, but something deeper... an invisible thread, a bond that time could not sever.

He spoke hesitantly, though the doubt in his voice had already begun to fade:

"This is insane... you're... dead."

The boy looked at him—looked for a long time—then raised his brow with a smile so familiar it hurt, and Damon felt as if his soul had been punched.

"And yet, here I am. Did you miss me, brother?"

Elena gasped.

"But how... how is this possible? We saw him die... we saw what he did..."

Alaric stepped forward cautiously, his eyes fixed and steady.

"Is it really you? Alexander?"

Alexander nodded slightly, his face momentarily settling into a quiet seriousness.

"In all the ways that matter... yes."

Rebekah emerged from the shadows, her arms crossed, but her expression betrayed her composure.

"You died to rebuild the world... turned to ash before our eyes. Are you an illusion? A trick?"

He turned to her, and the weight in his gaze was unmistakable.

"You know better than to believe that, Rebekah."

Lucifer chuckled softly, standing at the edge of the group, a curious smile on his face as he stepped forward slowly.

"I should've seen this coming."

Mazikeen leaned against a tree, arms folded, her stare unflinching.

"It's him. That soul can't hide from me... not even if it wanted to."

Sam Winchester looked at Dean, who shook his head slowly.

"The boy's soul... it's vast, dark, and familiar."

Sam nodded.

"It's him."

Stefan stepped forward slowly, his hands trembling.

"Alex? Is it really... you?"

The boy—Alexander—smiled again, but this time it was softer, more nostalgic.

"It's me, Stefan... just in a smaller form."

Damon didn't wait another second. He stepped forward firmly and knelt before the boy, staring into his eyes, searching for any falsehood.

But he found nothing but truth. A truth wrapped in ten years of silence, love, pain, and something greater.

He spoke with a hoarse voice:

"I buried you... I cried for you."

Alexander's smile dimmed, but did not fade.

"And now you'll cry again... because I've returned."

Then... the silence broke.

The Salvatore brothers lunged forward, embracing the small, unfamiliar body of their older brother in a fierce hug, as if ten years of grief vanished in a single moment.

A moment that turned loss into joy, and doubt into certainty.

The others stood watching, eyes brimming with tears, smiles spreading across faces, hearts pounding fiercely.

He had returned.

Ten Years Ago – In the Light Beyond Death

There was no pain when Alexander died.

No fear.

No regret.

Only pure warmth.

He gathered the last of the corrupted power of Malach's light, wrapped his fading soul in Bonnie's magic, and rebuilt the world from his ashes.

The shattered cities, the scorched sky, the dead... he restored everything.

Except her.

And except himself.

He remembered the feeling of lifting off, as if the earth was falling away from him, embraced by silence like a mother's arms. When he opened his eyes again, he stood in a lavender field, under a sky bluer than anything real.

And Bonnie was there.

Smiling.

Waiting.

She didn't speak. She didn't need to.

They rushed into each other's arms and wept... not in sorrow, but from the overwhelming peace that filled their hearts with a reunion free of war, free of fear, free of finality.

And for years... that was enough.

Time there moved differently.

Ten years in the real world passed like gentle dreams in the afterlife.

Together, they built a new kind of eternity:

A small cottage by a still lake, stars that listened, and days that never ended.

But the world did not stop.

And somewhere, deep in the fabric of the magic Bonnie left behind... life began to stir again.

Her magic, which preserved Alexander's being in the afterlife, began to pulse again in the living world.

Calling power.

Reaching for the soul it once cradled like a cocoon of light.

Alexander felt it one day, standing on the hill overlooking the eternal lake.

Bonnie stepped beside him, her fingers lacing with his.

She whispered gently:

"You feel it too, don't you?"

He nodded.

"It's calling you."

He turned to her, heart tightening with sorrow.

"I don't want to leave you."

She whispered, kissing his forehead:

"You're not leaving me... part of me will always be with you, just as part of you will always remain with me."

He swallowed hard.

"Why now?"

She smiled through her tears.

"Because the world might need you again. Because your story isn't over yet."

And so... the journey began.

In the blink of an eye, Alexander's soul ignited.

Bonnie kissed him one last time, and her magic wrapped around him like wings of light.

He didn't scream. He didn't cry.

He simply smiled... and vanished in a golden blaze.

The Present – At the Statue Square

Everyone stood in stunned silence—some crying, some smiling, others speechless.

Alexander stood before them, in the form of a ten-year-old boy, carrying an immortal soul.

He reached out his small fingers and touched the stone of his statue, a crooked smile playing on his lips.

He said, turning slightly:

"Isn't this a bit much?"

Caroline laughed through her tears.

"You haven't changed at all."

He winked.

"Never."

This time, Lucifer stepped forward, the humor gone from his face, replaced by something more serious.

"Your wife's magic brought you back, but there must be a reason behind it.

Do you know why you returned?"

Alexander's smile faded slightly, and he looked toward the horizon.

"Not yet..."

He whispered.

"But I will."

And the wind blew once more... carrying with it the scent of lavender, and a sense that something had just begun.

And so began a new story of pain, and joy, and laughter, and battles...

But that... is a story for another time.

And so, my friends, this beautiful story comes to an end.

To some of you, it may have felt swift — after all, I've been releasing multiple chapters a day —

But for me, it was a journey that took time, effort, and heart to reach its conclusion.

Yes, there are flaws — many strange details, and even some elements left unexplained or lacking complete logic.

But that, too, is part of the story.

This is a tale born from my own hands.

I've drawn inspiration from many different works and blended them into one — but at its core, this was always Alexander story.

And that is why certain threads were left untied, and why some characters never made their appearance.

To speak the truth, this is my first story set in the world of films and television.

I've written several stories before — most of them based on anime, manga, and the like —

But this was my first time venturing into this beautiful thing

I hope you enjoyed the journey.

Thank you — truly — for everything.

Until we meet again, may peace be with you.
