After finishing their food, Sean and Blaise got up, preparing to leave the Great Hall.
As he left, Sean happened to walk past Malfoy, who was boasting loudly to his friends. At that moment, Malfoy's boasting abruptly stopped. It was clear that Malfoy was somewhat nervous, as deducting fifty points from Slytherin was a perfectly valid reason for a Pure-blood Duel.
For Sean, if possible, he certainly didn't want to miss such a good duelling opportunity. However, the Malfoy family likely couldn't bear to see their heir soundly beaten by him again. To prevent the Malfoy family from going insane, Sean reluctantly gave up this chance. He merely paused briefly, then walked past Malfoy and left the Great Hall.
Recently, due to the approaching exams, seats in the library had become increasingly scarce. Fortunately, Blaise's third-year girlfriend was always able to find them seats, so Sean benefitted from Blaise's connections.
The third-year and first-year courses didn't overlap much, so Blaise was rarely with his girlfriend during the day; they each had their own classes to attend.
Sitting in the library, Sean gave Blaise his notes for various subjects, letting him copy them down to take back and review. This guy had spent more than half the school year dating. Leaving aside the question of whether he could pass by just winging it, now that he was sitting in the library studying, if he didn't have Sean's notes and help, Blaise wouldn't even know where to start. When the exams came, he would just have to rely on luck.
"Ah..." Blaise put down the book in his hand, looking utterly dejected, and mumbled to himself, "What should I do, Sean? I think I'm definitely going to fail."
"If you have time to complain, you might as well look at your notes and books more."
Listening to Sean, Blaise slumped for a while longer, then got up again and started reading.
As night fell, during dinner, Blaise was taken away by his girlfriend. Sean shook his head helplessly, picked up his book, and returned to the Great Hall for his own meal.
As Sean was eating a pie, he heard Malfoy's voice, suppressing fear, from over at the Slytherin table.
"They're insane, absolutely insane! They actually told me to go to the Forbidden Forest for detention at eleven o'clock tonight. Dumbledore is an old lunatic, Professor McGonagall is also a lunatic, and Filch is a lunatic, they are all lunatics, all lunatics!"
"Draco, maybe you'll just be doing something outside the Forbidden Forest," Goyle offered. "You probably won't go inside. If it's just the outside, there won't be any danger."
"That's right, that's right," Crabbe added. "If it's just the perimeter, lots of people have snuck in there, nothing happened."
Goyle and Crabbe's comforting words finally calmed Malfoy down a bit.
Sean, listening to Malfoy's words from over here, knew that tonight was the time for him to act.
He couldn't enter the Forbidden Forest too early, nor too late. Entering too early made it easy to encounter the two-faced Quirrell, who was possessed by Voldemort, alone. Sean's very basic Disillusionment Charm couldn't possibly fool him. Entering the Forbidden Forest too late, the unicorn's body might be taken away and buried by the centaurs, which would also be troublesome.
Only by following Harry and the others, not too early and not too late, could he ensure his safety while finding an opportunity to obtain the unicorn's blood. Not much was needed, just a drop would suffice.
After dinner, Sean returned to his room, rested briefly, and lay on his bed waiting for the time to come.
At ten-thirty, Sean took Kulkan, changed into athletic clothes and shoes, cast the Disillusionment Charm, and slipped out of the common room. As soon as he left the dungeon, Sean saw Malfoy walking ahead. Following them from a distance, Sean watched Malfoy meet up with Harry and the others. Under Filch's intimidation, they left the castle and arrived at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, where Hagrid was waiting.
"The Forbidden Forest! We're really going into the Forbidden Forest? You're insane! You're insane! I heard there are werewolves in there, we'll be torn to shreds by werewolves!" Malfoy panicked.
"Well, you only have yourself to blame, don't you?" Filch looked at Malfoy gleefully. Filch never had any fondness for these pure-blood nobles with magical abilities. "Why didn't you think about the werewolves in the Forbidden Forest when you were causing trouble?"
"I'll tell my dad! My dad is a Hogwarts school governor, he won't allow you to take me into the Forbidden Forest! And I absolutely won't go in!"
At this moment, Hagrid arrived late. He happened to hear Malfoy's words. Hagrid had no good feelings towards the Malfoy family, so he immediately reprimanded Malfoy, "Even if Lucius came here, it wouldn't help. The Headmaster of Hogwarts is Dumbledore, and Dumbledore is the one who calls the shots! If you want to stay at Hogwarts, you have to go in with me!"
Circumstances forced him to comply. Malfoy wasn't truly stupid. After calming down, he also knew that he wouldn't encounter real danger, and he would need Hagrid to protect him after entering the Forbidden Forest. He couldn't afford to offend him at this moment.
Filch left the edge of the Forbidden Forest gleefully. Hagrid then led Harry, Malfoy, and the others into the Forbidden Forest.
Sean followed them from a distance, keeping a certain distance. Although Hagrid's hound Fang was quite timid, his sense of smell was very strong. If Sean got too close, it was hard to guarantee he wouldn't be discovered.
Even while maintaining distance, Sean still sprayed himself with the scent-removing potions he carried, eliminating the danger of being discovered.
As they went deeper into the Forbidden Forest, Sean finally saw some traces on the ground ahead that emitted a silvery sheen. It was unicorn's blood. Unfortunately, it looked like it had been there for a while. Sean needed fresh blood taken from the unicorn's body, so he had to continue deeper with Hagrid and the others.
Soon, Hagrid and the others split into two groups. Later, Hagrid and his group encountered a centaur. Sean kept following behind them, trailing them from a distance.
Later, they switched teams. Harry and Malfoy were in one group. Finally, at Malfoy's startled scream, Sean saw a dead unicorn in the distance, and the two-faced Quirrell, wearing a cloak, lying on the unicorn, drinking its blood.
Seeing Harry, Quirrell clearly wanted to seize this opportunity to attack him. Due to the scar, Harry lost his ability to resist, while Malfoy and Fang took off running.
Just as Quirrell was about to touch Harry's body, a centaur rushed out from the forest, startling Quirrell away.
It was at this moment that Sean reached out and released Kulkan. Without saying anything, he just let Kulkan move forward along the grass to absorb the unicorn's blood. Otherwise, if Sean went there himself, he would definitely be discovered by the centaur. Only Kulkan could do it without anyone knowing.
