"We need more men searching the western forest," I snarled, pacing the cramped space of the seer's hut. My boots left muddy tracks on the wooden floor, but I couldn't care less. "Every minute wasted is—"
"Kaelen," Ronan interrupted, his voice hoarse from hours of shouting orders and calling Seraphina's name. "The patrols are already covering every inch of our territory."
I ran a hand through my disheveled hair, unwashed since Seraphina's disappearance. None of us had changed clothes or slept. The scent of our anxiety filled the small space, making it hard to breathe.
"It's not enough," I growled. My wolf paced restlessly beneath my skin, desperate to break free and hunt for our mate.
Orion leaned against the wall, eyes bloodshot. "The neighboring packs have all been alerted. Even the human police are searching, though they don't know what they're really looking for."
