After that debacle was over it was almost the end of the class. Principal Ye called for another teacher, Mrs. Ding who was currently had a free period and coincidentally had 3-C for her next period.
Mrs. Ding entered the class carrying her course material along with her signature flask filled with Goji berry tea. She was a little surprised by the class's atmosphere but quickly broke the tension by playfully joking.
Among the teachers that Xie Yang remembered, Mrs. Ding was one of them. She was a kind and playful teacher but most of all, she was one of the first who recognized the burden he carried and went out of her way to make things a little easier for him.
For example, she'd ignore it if he missed any assignments, she'd give him money and asked him to buy snacks for her but would give most of them to him as "payment" etc.
After Principal Ye left with Mrs. Sheng and Xie Yang finally sat down, Mrs. Ding addressed the class.
"Alright, there's a bit of time left before the bell so if you guys promise to be quiet, I'll let this period be a free one." Mrs. Ding announced in a gentle tone.
She decided against asking about what happened out of consideration for Xie Yang as it was clear to her that whatever happened involved him and judging from Principal Ye's face, it wasn't exactly something pleasant.
This announcement elicited a cheer from some students who were immediately glared at and shushed by their peers.
Xie Yang shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Right now, his pampered body couldn't even handle standing for thirty minutes straight. His legs were killing him.
Zhou Kai raised his hand and asked for permission to go to the restroom which he was promptly given by Mrs. Ding.
He rose to his feet and left in a bit of a hurry but no one cared enough to notice except for his minions, of course.
Wu Longnian whispered to his right side desk mate, Li Zhen, one of his friends and another one of Zhou Kai's minions.
"Psssst…..Xiao Zhen why do you think Boss left in such a hurry?"
"I don't know Lao Wu, maybe Boss just needed to use the restroom really bad?" Li Zhen scratched his head while whispering back.
"Maybe he plans to skip the English class? Should we follow him out? What do you think Lao Yu?" Wu Longnian leaned back on his seat with a textbook covering his mouth and discreetly whispered to Qiao Mingyu sitting behind him.
Qiao Mingyu looked towards the door once before turning his attention back to Wu Longnian, "Let's stay here for now. Since Boss didn't signal us to follow him then he must not want us to follow. Also, there's no way Mrs. Ding would let us all leave so let's not bother."
Qin Weisheng calmly listened to the conversation of his fellow friends and redirected his attention back to his book.
If his guess was correct, then instead of being in the bathroom, their Boss must be out gathering some things.
He subtly glanced at Xie Yang who was now focused on reading his books, completely unaffected by the previous incident.
Qin Weisheng sighed in his heart but dismissed the thought of interfering since it wasn't his business.
True to his guess, Zhou Kai returned back inside the classroom with his hands full of stuff.
Mrs. Ding raised an eyebrow and playfully questioned, "Didn't our classmate Zhou went to the restroom? I didn't know that our school's boy's restroom also had snacks available."
Some students laughed while others chuckled softly. Xie Yang cracked a smile, his eyes crinkling and a row of pearly white teeth showing.
Zhou Kai didn't take offence and coolly explained, "On the way back, I remembered that Pres hadn't had lunch today so I bought some snacks randomly for him."
Mrs. Ding, along with the students of Class 3-C, was shocked by this gesture, as Zhou Kai's 'hatred' for Xie Yang was well known.
Mrs. Ding glanced at Xie Yang who seemed pleasantly surprised. She narrowed her eyes before gently urged Zhou Kai, "Is that so? then quickly give them to our Classmate Xie! He must be starving!"
Zhou Kai went up to Xie Yang's desk and put down the snacks he bought. All of them were Xie Yang's favourite snacks.
Honestly, if it were up to him, he'd prefer to get his sweetheart a proper, fulfilling meal but being on a time crunch, he had to opt for snacks instead.
Xie Yang saw that all the snacks were his favourites and flashed a toothy grin at his husband.
"Thank you for getting this for me Kai but take some back with you. You missed lunch as well." Xie Yang added, worry evident in both his tone and on his face.
Seeing the worried look on his beloved's face delighted Zhou Kai as he revelled in the feeling of being cared for. He leaned down to near Xie Yang's ear and whispered in his low, magnetic voice, "Pres, there's some muscle relief ointment under the snacks. Go to the bathroom and apply it whenever it's convenient for you."
Xie Yang felt his heart skip a beat when his husband leaned down. He nearly instinctively kissed him out of habit. Thankfully, he caught himself in time. Though his husband's concern did fill his heart with warmth.
"Of course, thank you again Kai." Xie Yang replied in an affectionate voice with a twinkle in his eyes.
Zhou Kai had to hold himself back from kissing his sweetheart's beautiful eyes. His beloved seemed to always test his self control.
Zhou Kai grinned back at Xie Yang before straightening up and going back to his seat.
He couldn't wait for the day when he could finally win Xie Yang and kiss him, hug him, and do other intimate things with him—rightfully.
